It looks very nice indeed. Could we have a few more details. Is this payware or freeware? And when is it likely to be released?

@jarmstro payware, it's still in development, more details are for sure on the way, release is ASAP

Will it get easily updates for XP12 ?

Because it's so close ( so we want to think... ) that it would be a pitty if it couldn't be easily ported ...

Have you had the chance to test it with XP12 ?

Ok why post this? Phew! honestly I have to agree with other people but surely it could have been done better with some nice graphics like using orthos or maybe that nice Sydney Airport! in the background. But this does nothing for what Xplane can actually offer in its current state from my honest opinion .  Xplane can do a whole lot more than just what this video is showing, how about adding cross wind for the take-off in the video, one of the many features currently available in XP11.55. Oh well who am I to question huh!

Roll on Xplane 12 I suppose is what I say and hopefully we can move forward and not look back.....

and to the developer of the model it is a nice model but please put it on something better than that Video... as the model has legs but that video is the pits lol

If I was going to do a video with your aircraft model l would use for this "Pacific Islands Airfields" by khamsin...

The focus is on the aircraft and not the scenery. When developing, X-Plane stays as bare-bones as possible with slider settings that only focus on the subject (in this case, the aircraft) to minimize art asset reload delays. Art asset reloads generally occur A LOT in the development process. Add the fact that a lot of developers do not possess high end systems into the mix and there you are.
Good looking videos and screenshots for the product page are a matter for the night before release day.

Just as well.🤫

@jcomm Historically, X-Plane aircraft models that are built in the last version run of the software will convert with minimal problems to the first few releases of the newest version run of the sim i.e. XP11.55 > XP12.00 won't be a big deal. Laminar has already released a guide for doing just that, it's on the X-Plane Developer Blog now.

My partner and I on the Tigercat haven't discussed specifics at this point, probably closer to the release of the Tigercat or once the public beta for XP12 has been announced.

Great looking aircraft! (And I like the smoothness of the video! 👍😉)

Want to see an engine-out scenario !

And an accelerated stall !

And a stall followed by a flat spin !

Nice reading about RL Flight Tests here:

specially in here, regarding Spin tests:

The vid simply shows XP as is, before you spend a fortune on addons and a super computer

This is simply not true.  Better Landclass and autogen - mirroring MSFS building placement, will set you back $20.

For the whole world? Where?  Anyway I don't think I have the space. 2.5TB taken up with orthos for a postage stamp of the planet.

Hi Sean,

I hope the F7F has an operating tailhook. It isn't easy to see in pix of the F7F I checked. Grumman did a nice job of fairing it into the fuselage.

Thanks.

@Murmur Keep in mind all that data is for the XF7F-1 and F7F-1 models of the aircraft.

We are modelling the F7F-3 so it wouldn’t be accurate to match that flight test data specifically.

The F7F-3 has a larger vertical stabilizer as a major structural difference.

I don’t have time at the moment to share my whole perspective but rest assured the data being input to the sim is as accurate as I can find in order for the flight model to perform as best as X-Plane is designed to simulate the aircraft.

I want it to match the book performance numbers as best as possible with as little cheating as possible.
