August 8, 20223 yr Low latency just makes the GPU render less frames ahead, makes no sense why that would help anything. In fact low latency and "ultra low" latency are meant to reduce the input lag but increase the load on the CPU, making the main thread bottleneck worse. Every game I tried in CPU limited conditions benefits of frame buffering and is much smoother than with 0 pre-rendered frames (ultra low latency). At the expense of input lag, which is not important for a slow game such as FS. But hey, many youtubers prescribe to put it on low or ultra low and they can't be wrong, can they? Terrain Pre-Caching to ULTRA is what did the trick for him, but having changed two parameters together he didn't realize which one actually worked. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

As this essentially removes the unloading and reloading of objects. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!! I have been fighting with this for so long and your suggestion was the fix!!!!!!!!!!!!
September 5, 20223 yr They fixed this in SU10. I always tested how the sim was going to perform by going into drone mode and panning around about 100' above wherever I was parked. In FSX, P3D, and MSFS (up until the 2nd SU10 beta release) always stuttered when looking away from the sun. Every revolution stuttered in that one direction. As of the current SU10 beta release, panning all the way around is equally smooth in every direction. You guys are going to love this version. I honestly think its just the other way around. Its actually limiting the number of frames the CPU process before it goes to the GPU. Meaning, the CPU processing less frames (less CPU work) and shoot them to the GPU. So its actually stressing the GPU more. The mode only does anything if you're getting high FPS and you're GPU-bound. Also, it doesn't even work in DX12, so if you're using DX12, then it's definitely not doing anything. This is true.. but also, the current DX12 implementation in SU9 is known for it's extremely bad stuttering when panning. So don't use it 😛 Intel Core i7 8700k clocked to 4.6GHz, GTX1080Ti, 32GB DDR4 RAM, MSFS installed on NVMe drive, Windows 11, Dell 27" 60Hz Monitor + Dell 24" 60Hz Monitor. Resolution 1920x1080. If you have input latency in games—mouse lag, for example—that’s often only a result of low frames per second (FPS), this setting won’t solve that problem. Warning: This will potentially reduce your FPS. This mode is off by default, which NVIDIA states lead to maximum render throughput. For most people, most of the time, that’s a great option. But, for competitive multiplayer gaming, you’ll want all the little edges you can get—and that includes lower latency." 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

September 7, 20223 yr I get better results with low latency off -- with my current config, which is cpu bound rather heavily. I hope to remedy that situation within the next 6 months. Anyway, I fear we'll all be reconfiguring our sim rigs come SU10 official release. I have my SU9 running sweetly now, with smooth panning, (almost) no stutters, and high frame rates. I’ve been switching between SU9 and 10 for the last beta updates, and if the direction the beta has been heading is anything to judge by, I’d say for DX11 at least, the performance is going to be better, not worse. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 64GB DDR5

I didn't have to tweak any of my settings for the most part. Any settings I did change were just to drag a slider to the right. I think everyone will be quite pleased with this update.
