May 28, 20224 yr Self loading cargo is dead. I don’t recommend that purchase unless you want an unfinished product. The sounds are meh. I ended up making my own which did improve my experience a ton at the time for the airline I like to fly for but the bottom line is there is no replay value with self loading cargo. Failures/passenger emergencies/interactions are disabled so you largely have a product that is pretending to have passengers and crew without anything dynamic. Every flight will be the exact same as the last. Unfortunately the potential the program never came to fruition
May 28, 20224 yr I use SLC. I like it a lot but for some reason it adds 500 fpm to the touchdown rate when flying the Fenix. And then penalizes you for damaging the struts on what you can tell is a greaser. SLC also has some problems with service being finicky. You have to manually control the service because the FA's won't start serving food or drinks on auto-mode even if the pax are starving, resulting in a really low score on long flights with auto service. I do like it though. On the fence on if I will go back to FSCaptain once it releases for MSFS, or not. Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. The only time you have too much fuel is when you're on fire. To make a small fortune in aviation you must start with a large fortune. There's nothing less important than the runway behind you and the altitude above you. It's better to be on the ground wishing you were in the air, than in the air wishing you were on the ground.

Hi David, I posted this on a P3D thread: "I'm not an airliner guy, but the release of the Concorde for MSFS had me thinking about an add-on similar FS Passengers for MSFS 2020. SLC, the LukeAirTool, & TDFi PACX were the 3 that came up. I tried LAT because it was free and found the UI outdated from a visual standpoint. It's worth a try, because it's free! I saw some videos of PACX and did some reading and found that I could not customize the sound packs. Lastly, I watched and read all about SLC. After some deep thinking, I went ahead and bought SLC. It's simply outstanding! Now this is a P3D thread, but I just wanted to share my experience with this excellent add-on. If v1.6 is ever release, and I believe that it will be, it's going to be even better. Either way, 1.5 does exactly what I need and has all the features I was looking for in this kind of add-on. I was able to create my own soundpack for the BA Concorde and my flights are so much more enjoyable. Once again, I've never been an airliner type simmer and SLC made me a fan of airline simming!" The best thing to do is watch some YT videos so that you can get an idea of how to use it in your flights. Edited May 28, 20224 yr by DJJose MSFS

I'd like to see soundpacks with custom Captain announcements for popular airlines. Unfortunately, this never happened. Even the freeware sound packs I tried were not very good. There are 99 folders with audio in them. I can understand why most users were afraid to customize the files. MSFS

I can understand why most users were afraid to customize the files. Most were probably waiting for v1.6 to work on creating sound packs since the program would have brought irregularities with flights that add something different. Also as I mentioned there really is no replay value. The last flight doesn’t affect the next and every flight is exactly the same. You could pull up YouTube videos and play a safety video in the background while you are pushing back and it’s essentially the same thing as SLC. Maybe a career mode would have brought in more pilots to help develop sound packs. The add on is just very bland but the idea is great. As far as being embraced by the community, we’ll it’s been almost 2 years since the last update…. the positive for me with this delay is I deleted SLC and got more into learning to fly on vatsim. It’s almost next to impossible to listen to the safety briefing while simultaneously copying down my taxi instructions so when v1.6 finally releases in 2030 I’ll be too busy communicating with ATC, not watching the flight attendants 😏

I actually went back to FSPax and tried to swipe the audio files from that, but couldn't find a single audio pack for that program even though I remember there being hundreds for all types of aircraft types and airlines. It's a bummer. In any case, I do think we will eventually see 1.6 of the program. It might not be this year, but the dev does work on it. (Evidence is in his now ancient videos). His issue is having newborn kids and too thin skin to handle the obvious backlash of missed release dates. I can forgive him for being bad with release dates; PMDG released the NG3 a year and a half later than expected. Cyberpunk was delayed what felt like half a decade. All he really needed to do was come clean on his new life events. People are more understanding than you'd think, if you're brutally honest. May 28, 20224 yr I'd advise against buying SLC. I wish I was wrong but I really do think its abandoned. The last update was August 2020 and the developer has promised and issued half a dozen release dates he himself has missed. During this time other similar tools (LukeAirTool and PACX) have continued to be developed. As others have said, the default sound packs are also pretty average and whilst the developer says it works with MSFS, it really doesn't. You can only board passengers if you have a jetway attached, so any parking position or airport without jetways is useless. If the developer ever releases 1.6 then sure, make the an assessment, but until then - I'd look elsewhere. I think Steve just got upset because of all the negative reactions by those who bought an add-on that was in early access at a dirt cheap price. A different attitude by customers might have yielded different results by the dev. This is a complex software that is taking him years to update and according to the site the updates will be free. May 29, 20224 yr I've been looking at these programs as well, but found myself gravitating towards PACX. Still on the fence though. - Aaron
May 29, 20224 yr I really liked the idea of the program and used it for a little bit of time but like others have said, it’s dead. It’s unfortunate really as it had a lot of promise and filled a empty space in our hobby that’s much needed. Would’ve been nice if the developer would’ve at least let everyone know instead of promising an “imminent release” and then go silent… / CPU: Intel i7-9700K @4.9 / RAM: 32GB G.Skill 3200 / GPU: RTX 4080 16GB / Freight Pilot

I'd have more sympathy for him, but the dustbin fire that is SLC is of his own making. He consistently promised updates and never delivered. He then got upset and the criticism and closed down all means of community support and engagement. What I never really understood is why he didn't just release a small update that would allow proper use with MSFS (i,e. a version 1.56 or similar that just had the MSFS Doors interaction/workaround in it)? That would have tied a lot of people over and been a sign of goodwill. Instead he continued to bang on endlessly about this amazing 1.6 that of course we've never seen. The best thing we can hope now is that tools that are continuing to be developed (LukeAirTool and PACX) leverage of some of the good ideas that supposed to come in the elusive 1.6. Bottom line, there's no way I'd recommend anybody by SLC when all evidence is the program is abandoned. May 30, 20224 yr This dev is a joke, plain and simple. A lazy you-know-what who plainly and simply doesn’t take responsibility for wanting to abandon his project, because YES IT IS ABANDONNED (stop being naive some of you lol), and not come clean with it. He played on his customers with utter disrespect, constantly promising that 1.6 was “just around the corner” for almost… 2 years now… it’s been almost a year if not more that 1.6 is 98% finished lol. WHAT A JOKE. This is just buying time and nothing else... Also, he had a very bad habit of banning and insulting anyone who were asking for news on progress, stating his discord who barely had much users, was “a time sink which was responsible for the constant delays” (what a joke lol), some people even stated that he wouldn’t respond to them via email for support. Also if you reached to him politely and suggested him to release a hotfix just for enforcing boarding/deboarding in case of broken door management, which was a super easy hotfix to implement, and if you suggested a way on how to do it, you’d get insults in return as if you were harassing him… I’m okay with someone wanting to abandon a project, but you MUST come clean with it, state where the product is currently broken, AND STOP SELLING IT to prospective customers UNLESS you specifically state that it won’t go further AND/OR AT LEAST that the product is nowhere near useable if you’re not on a jetway for both boarding and deboarding for most planes which is a huge deal breaker. And shut the discord OFF and not just put it to read only, because to a prospective customers who is not thinking that there might be a scam behind this, it might lure him into believing there’s an active discord and that nobody complains here. AND OF COURSE, remove everything pertaining to promises on future update to not pull off some marketing ■■■■ and elicit more deceptive sells out of thin air. HE STILL WANT THE SELL luring people and not deliver afterward, it’s plain obvious and it’s called “deceptive practices”, there’s no two way about it! Anyway, in the meantime, PacX made some real progress and has layouts and all and even more than SLC. And now, even the freeware LukeAirTool seems to have almost everything SLC has and then some. It's a shame because there were some neat ideas in SLC Now the dev even have to face a free competition better than him and you expect him to continue working on SLC?? You’re dreaming if you do, he simply vanished, as are all evidences showing now (discord strangely put to read only making it impossible to voice concerns BUT also share soundpack and layouts made by the community which kills the project, youtube comments suddenly put to off) He plainly ripped us off of our money by saying 2 years ago that yes, doors management was broken but we could buy with confidence as he was promising us it was going to be fixed Very Soon® (yes, “very soon” or “almost done” seems to be his trademark lol) I don't care about his wife or kids, it's not my problem as a customer. Those are poor excuses, next time it will be "my dog has eaten my hard-drive on which the 1.6 files were!! Too bad...". If he can't deliver, no problem, it happens I'm ok with that, but come clean with customers, and stop selling it to new one until you eventually come back to the project. STOP luring people into thinking there's an active Discord and the project is well and alive by silencing everyone and taking the money! STOP EXCUSING DECEPTIVE PRACTICES. TO NEWCOMMERS: !!! DO NOT BUY !!! it has now become a real scam unless he comes clean with it. You'll loose your money because soon enough, some MSFS updates will definitely breaks it entirely sooner or later and I guarantee you you'll get no fix. There has been none for the broken door management in 2 years... Edited May 30, 20224 yr by alanlj44
May 30, 20224 yr Oh an d by the way, if you have a look on his company under which name was used for his youtube account he was posting his SLC videos on, information updates on GOV.UK for Lanilogic Technology Solutions Ltd (how pompous… ), you’ll see that by the 6th of April, he transferred the direction to his wife. Usually not a good sign, it’s often a trick to avoid personal responsibilities. At least, it goes to show the “company” (if you can call it that way) is still probably in “business” (if you can call it that way too… ). How would the only person in a one-person company working on simulation add-on would transfer the direction of said company to his wife who was never ever mentioned as working on the project nor have any active interest in simulation add-on all the while after shutting any means of reaching him and all channels of communication?
