I’m old enough, unfortunately, to remember when and why VAT was introduced into the UK😫.

It was introduced by Ted Heath to pay for our contribution to membership of the Common Market.

Now we’ve all apparently taken the lunatic decision to leave the EU, isn’t it time to scrap VAT in the UK?

turbomax; would you like to take on my case against the UK govt.

On a ‘no win, no fee basis’ of course…..😎

Well, like all the PP stuff it's excellent, VAT or no. So I'll just suck it up. But there's no interiors apart from the tower and a hanger from what I can see. Ttheir masterpiece remains Bristol as far as I am concerned. Just bought Exeter from Aerosoft as well for a tenner. It's my home airport so I'm grateful and it's a step up from Superspuds freeware (to whom I bow low). But the difference between the meticulous PP stuff and this EGTE offering is a million miles apart. I mean, I've been there a million times and never seen it littered with articulated lorries? Some of which are floating in the air!😀

Very thorough, very early review here -

Thank you so much for posting my video, only just seen this because a viewer pointed it out. Much appreciated, all the best.

Maybe I'm missing something with this whole VAT thing but PilotPlus website clearly states the price is ex vat and adds vat in the checkout and Orbx also mentions that VAT/Tax is applies where applicable. I've seen other sites do this as well so I'm not fully sure where the issue is that people are talking about?

Edit: Just read it seems to be aimed at ads/marketing material - Ok I get that but that is rather minor when the actual store page you visit clearly displays the price is EX-VAT but ok.

Oh dear. Exeter is my local airport too.

No, I haven’t seen Exeter littered with articulated lorries either 😧.

Where are they, on the north western perimeter where they used to let all those Hunters and Hawker Siddleys rot away?

yes you are missing something and PilotPlus are clearly and deliberately acting against the rules:

1) "If your customers are consumers:
Consumers usually have to pay VAT and / or can’t generally recover VAT. The ASA has
ruled against many ads for quoting VAT-exclusive prices without marketers taking into
account that not all of their customers did not have to pay VAT or were able to recover VAT.
Therefore, if your customers are consumers, all prices you quote should include VAT."

2) "Ensure that they see only those prices that apply to them."

3) "VAT-exclusive prices should be accompanied by a prominent statement of the amount or rate of VAT payable and the ASA has upheld complaints where this was not the case."

4) "Quoted prices must include non-optional taxes, duties, fees and charges
that apply to all or most buyers. However, VAT-exclusive prices may be
given if all those to whom the price claim is clearly addressed pay no VAT
or can recover VAT."

No, no. 50% of the vehicles in the car parks, and every parking space anywhere and indeed any space whatsoever are artics . Hundreds of 'em !😀 Its a trucking fiasco.

Perhaps the installation did not go well or you have a conflicting product?
There are none in the product screenshots.
It is by Stairport Sceneries, by the way, Aerosoft are just the retailers.

This can be quite useful:

Yup. It was LVFR Global Traffic. Although it is only at this airport where the lorry fest occurs where parked cars are replaced with artics.

I am no developer but I have read that this happens when two developers share the same scenery object "GUID",
apparently this is usually the default one in the SDK.

Yikes, the clouds.

Best to sim that scenario imagining that the long-dormant Bromley Volcano has just erupted, and you’re running to that BAe-146 to escape the ash cloud…

A man asks his Solicitor: "If I give you £400, will you answer two questions for me?"

The solicitor replies: "Absolutely! What’s the second question?"

I employ a similar response to anyone who stops me in the street for market research, or for those people at shopping mall kiosks as I walk past:

"Can I ask you a question?"

"You just did. Bye!"🙂

Thank you all for your comments! We hope you are enjoying Biggin Hill.

As previously mentioned by another user the shop follows the same principal as Orbx. It shows the correct sales tax once the site can identify the user, upon logging in.

Where price is mentioned in our marketing material the sales tax disclaimer should be there, we apologise this Avsim post slipped through the net. We take time to make sure our pricing is fair, competitive and good value, so regardless if your country applies sales tax your getting good value.
