About London Biggin Hill

Situated in the London borough of Bromley, Biggin Hill Airport has a rich and varied history. The airport was originally used as a military base during World War II, and later became a hub for private and charter flights. In recent years, the airport has undergone a multi-million-pound transformation, and now boasts a modern terminal building, a state–of–the–art runway, and a range of on–site facilities. Despite its size, Biggin Hill is perhaps best known for its ‘Biggin Hill Bump‘ – a small mound on the runway which has become a notorious challenge for pilots!

Features

  • A high-fidelity rendition of London Biggin Hill
  • Precise terrain of 1-meter accuracy, inclusive of runway slope and the classic biggin bump.
  • Full high-resolution PBR implementation, from buildings to airside clutter and ground
  • Dynamic rain on control tower glass
  • Realistic and accurate night lighting throughout
  • Latest high-resolution ground imagery and airport layout including the new bombardier super hangar
  • Optional static aircraft

That has to be the first decent version of Biggin Hill that I have seen in any flight simulator.

Nice. Nice. But the prices you have quoted are ex VAT.  I paid £16.75 at OrbX

Still doing that, are they? Naughty.

That said, looks like a decent rendition.

Wow, that is a stunning rendition of the airport. If all payware airports were like that in MSFS, then I would seriously consider dipping my toes into the new world. I need to do some serious thinking......and saving

EDIT: For the record, the autogen buildings in the area outside the airport look very good from the air. Much better than the ones in P3D (and that is with ORBx TrueEarth GB installed).

Thanks for making Biggin Hill Airport, looking good overall.

Feedback:
@PilotPlus The runway markings at RWY03 are not matching both Google Maps and r/w Charts (https://chartfox.org/EGKB#EGKB_73648) (RWY21 appears to be correct).

Your scenery would make it on my shortlist if you could remove aiming point- and touchdown zone markings at RWY 03 😉

Been flying around here all morning, it's my new default base.

When it says 'Optional Static Aircraft' - where is the option to enable or disable that?

which is illegal and they know it:

"The Pilot Plus team has gone above and beyond to make sure that London Biggin Hill:...."

.... is showing false prices.

"The CAP Code requires that prices in ads include non-optional taxes, duties, fees and charges that apply to all or most buyers. This applies to all advertising and marketing materials, including websites and social media profiles.

If both consumers and businesses are likely to see the ad, and are both able to buy the product(s), you’ll need to quote VAT-inclusive prices.

VAT-exclusive prices, these still need to be prominently accompanied by the rate or amount of VAT, for example “ex VAT@20%

no I am not, lawyers are no fun. that's why we never get invited. and that's why I named my daughter Sue. And when we marry we don’t say, “I do.” we say, “I accept the terms and conditions."

A man asks his Solicitor: "If I give you £400, will you answer two questions for me?"

The solicitor replies: "Absolutely! What’s the second question?"

I’m old enough, unfortunately, to remember when and why VAT was introduced into the UK😫.

It was introduced by Ted Heath to pay for our contribution to membership of the Common Market.

Now we’ve all apparently taken the lunatic decision to leave the EU, isn’t it time to scrap VAT in the UK?

turbomax; would you like to take on my case against the UK govt.

On a ‘no win, no fee basis’ of course…..😎

we would love to welcome you back, anytime. with or without VAT 😊

A man walked into the local Chamber of Commerce of a small town, obviously desperate. Seeing a man at the counter, the stranger asks, “Is there a criminal attorney in town?” To which the man behind the counter immediately quipped, “Yeah, but we can’t prove it yet!”
