Sunday Stroll

Featured Replies

It's a slow saunter from KSSQ Shell Lake, eastbound to intercept US hwy 53, and south to find Chetek WI Y23.  Unfortunately my sim keeps crashing to the desktop when I get any nearer to Y23 than the last screenshot.  I've tried with a clear community folder but no change.  Can someone else check if they can load a flight at Y23?

At any rate I liked how the shots came out so I'm going to post them now.

For my real world back taxi I like to offset at untowered airports - easier to spot from the sky.

Solid overcast base so I won't be climbing much over 2500 ft msl.

The clouds pushed me even lower...not much room to work with now.  US regulations require 500 ft below clouds and about 500 ft above the surface (unless in congested areas then its 1000 ft) for VFR flight.

I can see Chetek in the distance - my plan was for a entry to RY 07 from the north for a 45 left downwind

Cessna 170B is my favorite aircraft, and I've never seen one looking better than this one. What a great series!

Great pics. I get alot of use out of the 170.

Ryan,

I loaded up at SSQ and flew direct to Y23. All seemed fine until I turned to fly overhead the field about 2 miles out and I also had a CTD. This was using the Kodiak 100 so it's not the aircraft, must be something with the scenery. I was using the same SSQ scenery as you were and the default Y23

Thank you very much for testing!  I'll submit to MSFS Zendesk

Oh are you using su9 or SU10 beta?  I'm on 9.

I am on 9 as well. I just completed a flight from 1S2 to KAST with the same aircraft with no issues at all, so my system is working fine. It must be something associated with Y23 or something very close to Y23.

Wonderful pics, Ryan, as always!

Very nice! Love that 170 and it's one of the ones that gets occasionally rolled out of my hangar too. And they're all great pix, but I really like your #14 with the glassy lake - rather special, that one.

Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used

The soft corner for the Cessna 170 seems universal...🙂.... very nice and soothing pictures from the Sunday stroll...!
