August 25, 20223 yr Author Interestingly, these engines previously flew on the Space Shuttle. One of them flew back in 1998. The boosters are shuttle boosters but one segment longer. Basically it's made partly from old shuttle parts.
September 2, 20223 yr Lon TV is doing a live camera from launch site now. In the comments someone wrote "It's not made by SpaceX to actually work.... " LOL Supposed to launch tomorrow Lon said, Space X is the pad on the right, NASA on the left I guess. There's other launch windows right after on other days if it doesn't rise from the pumpkin patch tomorrow at around 2PM Eastern time. Yes, it would have been better if it had been a fully reusable craft, but time was of the essence. The old shuttle engines were very good engines, very reliable, so I have no issue with their use. September 3, 20223 yr Author 2:17 ET the launch time. 6:17 GMT. (The proper time 😺) Weather doesn't look too bad. Monday, the alternative launch window, doesn't look so good, 70% chance of favourable weather, much like the first attempt. If today is no go and Monday is no go... then they have to roll it back off the pad for safety checks before another try. 🙄
