Duct tape is alien tech.

I think most, if not all, UFOs are the same colour as duct tape. Coincidence? I think not.

The annoying thing about the hydrogen leaks is that its something they've known about for as long time and never fixed. The hydrogen leaks have plagued the system since the first two wet rehearsals. But they went ahead anyway. 🙄 Its an attitude that doesn't bode well to be honest.

I'm glad I stayed home today. After I heard the crowd was expected to exceed 450,000 I decided not to go. I'm in central Florida and the weather is very cloudy here today. In this weather I probably couldn't have seen much from here anyway. Maybe next time. Where is Elon when you need him?

🙄 If this was  a new problem it wouldn't be so bad, but as I say, this is an old problem they've never fixed. Why even go ahead with launch attempt when you know you have a problem you still haven't fixed?

I hope this isn't an example of the "don't worry about frozen seals" attitude that caused the shuttle disaster.

Monday is the last chance now, or it rolls back off the pad for a re-test of the flight termination system.

And then of course if you drag it all the way back of the pad, 4 miles to the facility, then the vibration risks all manner of other issues.

The issue isn't some minor seal, its the huge seal at the base of the main tank, between the orange insulation and white base.

😂SpaceX will explode 3 out of first 5 try before it get problem solved.

I'm kinda glad I lost interest in spacecraft launches years ago.  A bunch of smoke.  A lot of flame.  A whole lot of noise. Ho-hum.  If and when it works I'm sure there will be video posts all over the internet.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

To be honest this launch leaves me cold. Yes, it might be as powerful as a Saturn V but nothing gets close to the drama of those Apollo launches back in the late 60s / early 70s.

Not only was it something that had never been seen before on that scale but having astronauts inside gave it a real edge.

I’ll never forget Christmas 1968 and the sight of Earth seen from the capsule in orbit around the moon. The first time Earth had been seen from such a remote place.

And the dramatic countdown voice made it unforgettable. Subsequent Apollo launches were no less spectacular.

In comparison this seems an anti-climax but perhaps not for younger people than this old git. I was 18 when Armstrong walked on the moon. The images are burnt into my memory.

Perhaps the sense of drama will come the first time it carries the astronauts.

That would certainly help those excited by the project.
