Something Strange?

Featured Replies

After take off in my Kodiak 100 and I get to my cursing altitude of 4000 ft.  .......... after about 4 or 5 minutes into the flight all of a sudden MSFS takes control of my aircraft and starts a left bank circle and I have absolutely no control of my aircraft? Has this ever happened to anyone? I started the same flight again and it did the same thing? I have my skill setting set at Medium and I have most settings turned on.

Perhaps you hit AI Piloting in the Flight Assistant dropdown?

I take it you are afraid of heights if you are swearing at 4000ft? 😃

When saying "Take the wheel" is not an option.

Intel Core i7 8700k clocked to 4.6GHz, GTX1080Ti, 32GB DDR4 RAM, MSFS installed on NVMe drive, Windows 11, Dell 27" 60Hz Monitor + Dell 24" 60Hz Monitor. Resolution 1920x1080. Game Mode on, GPU scheduling enabled (Win11). MSFS settings: High-End for airlines, Ultra for GA.

You didn't hear anyone say "I have control" by any chance?

Given that didn't accidentally triggered AI pilot, I would guess that you may run out of speed (insufficient thrust)! And autopilot  tried to compensate (loss of climb or altitude) by increasing angle of attack until critical angle of attack causing airplane to stall.

In any case 4000 feet would give sufficient time to recover !

If you are cursing at 4000 feet, your co pilot has probably had enough and said word not allowed it, I'm going to put you into a spin and see how you like that.

Sounds like it's possibly a case of co pilot taking over or hitting the auto pilot button really. I've certainly found that auto pilot sometimes behaves unexpectedly for some reason and sends me off in the wrong direction.

Yeah, I hate when that happens. My copilot does that sometimes. Most of the time she behaves though!

Reminds me of:

Obi-Wan:
You know I don't like it when you do that.

Anakin:
Sorry, master. I forgot that you don't like flying.

Obi-Wan:
I don't mind flying, but what you're doing is suicide.
