PC ALARM GPU Heat Alert???????

Featured Replies

What going on. I fly daily/man year user.  As of a couple days ago the FS2020 was loading as usual and then I heard an VERY LOUD BEEPING ALARM for about 5 seconds. It went off again a couple more times while loading. Quick flashing visual stating GPU heating alert. Never has happened. After loading and flying it just went off a couple more times. I dont know what this is. Only happens when using FS2020. I downloaded the PREVIOUS driver....still alarm went off. Has anyone else ever experience this? Solution? This morning I am going to try Stable A32NX and also try deleting the new aircraft I downloaded a coujple days ago A330 (which I have not even opened yet but is in the community folder.

Downlead MSI Afterburner and check your GPU temp. Sounds like you may have a fan failure or some GPU cooling problem.

When's the last time you blew the dust out of the GPU heatsink?  A dirty heatsink or dead/failing fan(s) are the likely culprits.

If the fan is working and nothing is dust-clogged, the heat-sink may need re-seating with fresh thermal compound.

It could simply be a higher ambient air temperature, is it warmer than normal in your PC room? But yes, the heatsink should be cleaned of dust and if problems persist suspect the fan is failing or the fan acceleration curve has been modified by some software.

The issue is highly unlikely to be related to your MFS installation or what addons you are running, although some will push your system harder and generate more heat it should be able to cope. It's almost certainly a hardware issue (save for fan curve set in software).

thanks for your suggestions. I have NEVER blew out the dust in my PC BOX

I did not remove the cover just turned off computer and took a can of AIR and blew out the sand and dust storm in the back of the computer (including the sides and front)....

Wow......dust everywhere!....Guess what .....NO ALARMS AND WORKS PERFECT!    Happy flying!

I do mine every 6 months, everything runs nice and cool.

I unplug everything, remove the covers, sit it on the back porch, and blow it out with my shop vac once or twice a year. Keeps her nice and shiny, and cool.

Thats why trying to save money for a proper case with dust filters is not a wise thing to do. I never have to clean the inside of my case, just from time to time a quick cleaning of the dust filters and thats it...

I (carefully) use my electric leaf blower. Does wonders looks like new!

The inflator for an air bed works amazing if you have one, especially if it's the type with a small hose.
