Program crashes for no reason

Featured Replies

This is the second time I've tried to fly from CLE to MDW.  On both occasions, I was almost there (the approach phase), and the sim just crashes and closes out.  Any ideas as to why this could happen?

I have it to. It's random. Maybe 1 or 2 out of 10 flights a CTD halfway in the flight. Today had one on KSAV to KBHM about 2hrs. into flight. Frustrating to say the least.

Oh it definitely crashes for a reason. What that reason is may be hard or impossible for us to determine.

tried with empty Community folder yet, i.e. absolutely no addons?

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

I have decided a week ago to test several hours a day for 1 week now without any traffic injection (AI) into the sim and also have turned of any in sim AI plane traffic.

SInce then not a single CTD anymore, before almost every flight CTD.

I think AIGAIM with AIGTC, or FSLTL and even used PSXT + RealLiveTraffic (Payware) did cause this. Regardless.

My thoughts are simconnect issues, but I am not a dev and not sure on this (just a guess).

With AIG I was fine for months, TILL I installed the complete livery and model package a week ago (with all models and liveries existing) to use the modelmatcher for vPilot (VatSim). After I used that amount of models and traffic (even if I turned the traffic slider down to 20%) I got ctd frequently (regardless of using vPilot or AIGTC to inject the traffic).

With FSLTL I am getting much quicker ctd. Also even if I turn the amount of traffic down to 20 and VFR 0.

With PSXT and RealLiveTraffic I also get CTD very quickly.

Turning all that off......ALL ctd solved and not a single CTD (even not in 4+ hours flights)

I have NO Pushback Toolbar installed and also not using any other addon planes beside the FENIX A320

I've always suspected memory leakage, but also maxing out RAM or DRAM.

I'm certainly not experiencing overly high CPU or GPU temperatures.

I didn't look, but next time.  It's weird.  Sometimes things are perfectly fine.  Other times, boom, it'll just close out.  It seems to happen on or near approach, but not sure.

Yep I think we all have it at some stage.   I had one into EIDW coming off the sea and 500 feet BAM CTD. Next day I did exact same flight and landed fine.

In the Event Viewer you can track down the history or errors in Windows applications, so you could go back and check at anytime, but you should remember day and time of course.

try with empty Community folder, otherwise anything is possible. and only the sky is the limit.

Fortunately I don't have any CTDs, for now...

I meant to say I don't expect any help from Windows Event viewer as far as MSFS goes.
