Thanks! You should get a paycheck or discount code cuz I just jumped on it at the store. I have been waiting for another bizjet since the GIV didn't work in XP12.

I don't mind supporting their efforts. Doing same with XP12 of course.

Any comments on the fidelity? Very much tempted, and the price seems good!

Well, bottom line at the top: I am happy with the purchase. I haven't figured out some things and there is no docs included beyond the LR FMS manual yet. I am planning on collecting any GLF5 data starting later today.

I took my first flight today with engines already started because I have not figured out how to get everything set right yet, but I took off from KAEG, leveled off and flew around a bit, then landed using nothing but default cues, and it worked great! Buttered it in at KABQ.

I won't lie - It does have some rough edges graphically and I am listing them for use when the right time to submit bugs comes along. But manually flying is half of it in my opinion, and it flies nicely. Compares to the G4SP very closely I think.

I would, being it is my home turf, but have not jumped onto the XP12 boat and have uninstalled XP11. It is very tempting though!

I'm taking a break from simming, just watching from the sidelines.

Extremely busy with my day job, which requires programming computers and sitting in front of screens for far too many hours.

I find it tough to do it when I am off work.  But I'm obviously keeping an eye on exactly what is going on, on all fronts.

FS95 was what convinced me to go to college for Aeronautical Science and get my CPMEL/IA ... and then of all odd decisions become an Air Traffic Controller at a Level 12 TRACON.

What am I doing now?   Other stuff ... lol.  Life, I'm tellin' ya.

It is v1.00 so there is work to do. I don't have the manuals yet. It flies. It has issues. It has tons of potential.

Based on the screenshots, they seem to have captured the general look and feel of the “Planeview” cockpit displays. (Gulfstream’s version of the Honeywell Primus Epic system). I’m sure there will be limitations in how it operates compared to the real thing, and apparently the FMS is generic. Still, the price seems reasonable.

I’m mainly a MSFS simmer, but I do use XP for the superb Hotstart Challenger 650. I will probably add this one to my XP hangar as well.

I note that in no place in the developer’s promo information do they ever refer to the aircraft as a “Gulfstream”. (Although the org’s sales page does call it that). There has long been a belief in the flight sim community that GAC “absolutely prohibits” emulation of their aircraft for flight simulation, but that is a bit overblown. From a legal standpoint, the only basis for a cease and desist action by GAC against the developer would be the use of the trademarked name “Gulfstream”.

Yes, so crazy in a way not wanting any reproduction in any flight sim. Like it may do harm or tarnish the Gulfstream name? Really waiting to see how well this bird is received. High end executive biz jets are the only reason the XPLANE start icon is still on my desktop. I haven’t opened the platform in two years. Also waiting for the Aerobask Falcon 8!

I'm pretty much the same at the moment.  Ironically I have yet to purchase the Challenger or the Gulfstream.  I guess I am waiting to see how the WT Longitude improvement turns out in msfs before I pull the trigger on these two bizjets in XP12.  Also I need a video card upgrade apparently if I want to run XP12 with any amount of AA.

I am liking the jet more each time I fly it. I finally figured out enough to get the jet rolling from cold & dark. There is a video on YT that shows going through all the motions but no voice so I winged it. There is another vid where the guy starts a G4 with explanation, and this jet is similar.

One thing that stands out - the need to assign keys to Autothrottle. Crashed my first time because the normal AP cutoff does not kill AT.  I use 'i' for engage and 'o' for disengage for now. https://code7700.com/case_study_giv_g-gmac.htm#gsc.tab=0 I basically duplicated this accident without knowing it was coming.

There are indeed two button on the base of the throttle lever stand. I have no idea what they do, but they do NOT disengage the AT.

FMS is standard (for now?) and the usual method of planning via either SimBrief or LittleNavMap works fine. The plane does not bob and weave as does the Citation X. Had no issues whatsoever on my last flight and am planning a longer LA to Miami today to see if it drifts off course as I've heard others say XP planes do.
