November 1, 20223 yr Hey guys, Now ive got the go ahead for my PC upgrade, im loathed to think of redoing all my various profile settings for my controllers... Is there a place where the .cfg is stored so i could just copy it over to the new install? I intend to keep my SSD with the sim installed on it (at least i hope i can transfer it over...is that possible?) to save a full reinstall.... For those that have upgraded the full monty, are there any tricks you have found to make the process easier? Thanks in advance! Doug Your control profiles and game settings are saved on your Xbox account in the cloud, so they will be loaded automatically when you log in to the game on your new PC. November 1, 20223 yr Not entirely sure, but I think the controller settings are stored in the cloud, so as long as you're using the same gamer profile (or whater the correct phraseology is) your settings will be picked up automagically. Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case. Sims in use - 2020, 2024, XP-12 and -11, FSX/SE, P3Dv4.5 and v5.4. DCS and AFS2 installed but rarely used
November 1, 20223 yr I can confirm this first hand: just finished the process of a full reinstall on my upgraded PC and all control settings were restored from the cloud. Heck, even the fact that I did uninstall three premium airports due to the fact that I use addons for those was obviously stored online in the cloud... Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024

Would this change if for example you switched from the Store version to the Steam version? Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB

Pretty sure yes, because I doubt that the Steam version stores those things at the same online location as the MS store version... November 2, 20223 yr Just in case you fancy manually backing up your control mappings and logbook see below ... this is for my Steam version but if you search your PC for the filename below it should point you to the appropriate location: I have a folder containing controller mappings under my main Steam/userdata folder … this folder (named “remote”) sits under a couple of other numbered (not named) folders: “…/Steam/userdata/10842504/1250410/remote”. In this “remote” folder I have “inputprofile_[xxx]” files which describe my latest mouse, keyboard and controller mappings, there are also files for other things like the logbook. A search for “inputprofile_” or similar might help you find these files if they exist on your system. Cheers! Ads Kluczinsky

If cloud delivery of MSFS ever fails resetting up your controllers will be the least of our problems! BTW I am loving the Boeing Yoke and TQ!
