Ideas for helicopter tours

Featured Replies

New York is excellent and London is worthwhile.  I've not done Paris or Singapore yet.  Any ideas for areas with good photogrammetry, tall buildings or any other scenic areas where helicopter tours are popular?

Lisbon. Really interesting topography and city design, from historic to modern.

The PG is astonishingly good quality.

Just flew there as low as 500 feet above the buildings, A real treat. Especially in VR.

There is also a good PG of Cape Town and the Table Mountain on Flightsim.to

Hong Kong is fabulous

Stockholm, especially if you have ESSB airport.

Boston is also fun.

So many great options across the world as suggested above. I'd say one particularly interesting area is Dubai from personal IRL heli touring there, and use the included helipad at the Burj Al Arab hotel. Also Rio De Janeiro, Taipei, Tokyo, etc

venice has one of the best pg areas

Anywhere there are mountains meeting the sea and an international airport nearby.

N America Pacific NW Seattle/Vancouver

PNW "Inside Passage" from US WA up through CA to US AK

Entire state of Hawaii (it's tiny, but dramatic)

San Francisco

Much of the UK (esp N)

Norway

Switzerland / Austria

Papua New Guinea

Pretty much anywhere in New Zealand.

For ideas, also check out Orbx's trailer for Africa on Prepar3D. Quite a few stunningly beautiful areas in that vid, and they have location subtitles for each one.
