1.29.30.0 : DLSS Frame Generation Greyed out (4090)

Featured Replies

Just saw that the DLSS Frane Generation is greyed out and even with DLSSG set to 1 in the UserCfg.opt file It does not work anymore.

Anyone with a 4090 can check if they are having the same issue ?

Hi

how many frame you have with your 4090?

with mine and 13900k with su11 not beta I have between 100-140 fps

Frédéric Giraud

Do you have HAGS enabled in Windows graphics options? I believe that is required for Frame Generation.

Yes, I think this is it.

If I get a 4000 series card, it may be a problem for me, as my Tobii Eye Tracker requires HAGS to be OFF at the moment.  I hope Tobii can fix the software.

Even when greyed out it s working and the Framerate is doubled.Just checked with the NV fps counter.

Asobo is aware of this and looking into it.

Just found out that HAGS had been disabled. It always had been set to Enabled. After Enableing and rebooting the pc and MSFS everything was back to normal..

Thanks for the suggestion

The TDS GTNxi 750 also asks to disable the HAGS except that I am still enabled and that finally the gtnxi 750 works perfectly.
Try the Tobii with HAGS enabled and see what happens.

Yes, good idea.  Not much can happen other than it just won't work properly, so I will give it a go tonight.

I have experimented with HAGS on and off since MSFS came out, and it hasn't really made any difference that I could see.
I understand you have to reboot after changing the setting.

Tobii working fine for me here with HAGS enabled. I just tried it there to experiment and Tobii wasn't working in sim, it wasn't even showing as a controller option. I went into Tobii experience and there was a notification that Tobii had to be set up as a new display. Did that and loaded up the sim and it was now working although the settings were all off. Tobii was now showing up under controller settings, but my profile was wiped so I had to reconfigure it to my liking. Not sure if it was HAGS or a Windows, driver or sim update that caused the issue but definitely working fine now with HAGS enabled.

HAGS is on for me, but DLSS Frame Generation is still greyed out. Apparently just a UI problem as setting DLSSG to 1 in usercfg.opt sets it to ON - as reported by many users in the official forum. And it definitely works, I have double the frames of what the DEV mode FPS counter shows 🙂

Tobii 5 also works with HAGS on.

I had the issue when I got the 4090, and I've been following the official forum thread you linked to. Seems to be a common issue.

Excellent news - thanks for that Donka!  I will make a note of my settings before I change anything as I have just got it perfect to my liking.

So that your DLSS Frame Generation is no longer grayed out.

  • Disabled your HAGS and then restart your PC.
  • Enable your HAGS then restart your PC.
  • Launch the sim.

I think HAGS is required to use frame generation (which doubles fps).

Hello,

In regards to the TDS GTNXi asking to disable Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling, this is a recommendation, as we have determined tht under certain situations, disabling this feature improves overall performance, but please take it as only a recommendation. The message box that pops-up on startup can be easily disabled permanently in case customers desire to.

The procedure to disable showing the message box is described in the TDS GTNXi PDF manual.
