1.29.30.0 : sometimes heavy stutters at approach

Featured Replies

Since the latest update 2 times now I have experienced heavy stutters at approach.

One time it was with the approach for Rome  LIRF rw 34R when Fiumicino is at the left at early dusk.

The next day I did the same flight but arrived 1h earlier and all went smooth.

Last week I did a flight to Naples LIRN rw 06 at early dusk and everything went smooth.

Just now I arrived in dusk and the stutters began when flying over Naples.

The framerate has been fixed to 30 + DLSS3 so the framerate seen is 60.

I paused the sim and turned Vsync off. The lowest fps I saw was 48 with stutters like it was 5 or so.

My pc is high end ) 13900kf @ 5.8 / 4090 / M2 )

Anyone experienced the same ?

Here just before the stuttering began (no stuttering in the vid).

I did ready a flight right now with the A310 at OOMS ( Payware ) and also had those stutters with SU11 ( not beta ) and yesterday the same, three hard stutters at the ILS short before land at UUDD, there it was very, very bad..🤪

cheers 😉

I have noticed stutters on the approach occasionally since the update, usually when flying the DC3.

; Yes just as you've described; satisfactory FPS, but heavy stutters!

Same

DLSS is not only giving high fps, but will also take over the low fps stutters. So if you would have stutters without dlss3, you will have them also with high fps. MSFS is still cpu heavy.

My 13900kf cpu @ 5.8 GHz / RTX 4099 has no issue running MSFS.

The stuttered were with Vsync 50% from 60 hertz, so 30 fps. The 4090 makes it 60 fps.

Without Vsync the lowest framerate over Naples was 48 and there were heavy stutters.

I am wondering if it doesn’t have to something with what is being downloaded ( 600mb connection here ).

One time smooth, the next time stuttery at the same approach.

Pb is always On.

Just tried an approach for Hamburg EDDH and again stutters. Three weeks ago I did the same flight in the dark with SU10 and very smooth.

There is certainly something not right .

I even did this flight several times when I still had the 3090 installed compared to the 4090 now …

Su11 beta? I am running nicely, except for terrain lod max 100 all ULTRA landing with fenix 40 to 60 fps @EDDK  When I go higher it's too demanding for my cpu. But word not allowed with your PC..... I like to tweak MSFS and window  but I found that it is always Tlod and the MSFS servers.

In this case it is not that. The issue started with SU11 and still exist with SU11 update.

Already I lowered tLOD and objects LOD from 180/170 to 150/140.

I opened a topic at the official MSFS forums. Feel free to reply there if you have these issue:

The 600mb you are paying for is only between you and your provider, you don't have control over what happens once you pass the providers gate.
If somewhere "enroute" to the server you're connected to there is only 1mb available then that is what you gonna get, 600mb connection or not.

Anything over 50-70 mb is already good for MSFS.

But I agree with you that it might be a server issue. However, this only occurs on approach in dusk or at night.
