100º..., over the CPU cooler you could try to put a pan and fry some bacon and eggs, and test if that lower the temps.

It has become obvious over the last few years that MSFS is not like any other title.  It can put severe strain on both your CPU and CPU at the higher settings, so you have to expect this - it simply won't be like others, you have to find the sweet spot on performance by experimenting with the settings and optimising your system in the best way possible.

Even with my 13900 and 3080Ti, I have had to put many hours into this to get it to run at the settings level I am happy with, and keep both the CPU and GPU under 90C.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

The heat isn't the problem anymore, i can disable e-cores, and the cpu will be around 70c, and the performance will still be bad.

Well, you are trying to fly over New York with EVERY single item maxed out in graphics, with terrain LOD 400 and photogrammetry, I don't think it's that strange to have low FPS in that situation with a CPU that can't run with all the cores enabled without getting to 100 degrees and throttling. Try lowering some settings and set TLOD to 150 or 200 to see if it increases the FPS as a test.

if i lower terrain LOD to 150 it's work fine, but the guy here have same specs as i, have a 100+ fps playing in 4k. and he maxed everything and he also play on new york.

Similar issue, 4090 with 12900K on 3 x 65" 4K HDR screens. Working great then all of a sudden >10FPS (when normally 30-100 depending on scenery). Only things that changed were a couple of forced windows updates and Samsung SSD firmware updates (3 SSD's updated).

Checked temperatures - OK 50C-70C

Updated Nvidia driver - no change

Checked SSD drive speeds - OK

Checked network speed - OK

Checked CPU/GPU usage - CPU usage low even though MSFS dev mode reported "thread limited"

Began taking out all addons from community folder in alphabetical groups, A-C, D-F etc. Got through all of them until last group no change

When community folder was empty - performance was restored to normal

And the funny part-

Added back all addons to community folder - performance still perfect. Something must have been reset by pulling all the addons out.

Good luck!

That is why I am confused because it was I that posted my specs and there is no issue flying up the Hudson taking in the New York skyline and the temperatures are very normal and all this while completely maxed out at 4K and still getting 90 to 100 fps.   The differences that I can glean so far is that the tests were done in the C172 (WB version) and I have nothing in the community folder.

The OP should be getting much better results.

I already tried it, i even reinstall flight simulator.

Just to be sure, you flighting very low? Like almost crashing the building? or you fly very high

Perhaps the OP shouldn't be trying to fly over Manhattan at nearly 400 knots at 400 feet at TLOD of 400.

Just a thought.

And with a CPU that is reaching 100 degrees and throttling.

But when i'm disable e-cores my cpu stands on 70 degrees..... and he's not thorttling anymore, and the performance is the same..

Yes, but then you are only using half of your CPU. Your friend probably doesn't have heating problems and is using his with all cores enabled.
