December 5, 20223 yr Hey guys, i'm new here, but i have a question, when i'm playing msfs2020 and playing on london city, or Barcelona or more cities with a lot of details. My GPU seems to be like on 10% usage and i have 5fps. that's my specs: GPU: rtx 4090 CPU: I9-13900K RAM: 64GB 5600MHZ MSFS IS ON MY SSD 4GENERATION 5000MB WRITE/READ SPEED network 2.5gb download.
December 5, 20223 yr Author i forgot to mention that i play on 2560x1440 resolution, on ultra settings everything is maxed.
December 5, 20223 yr Welcome! Just upvoting to see if anyone can help. Are you sure you've set the RTX 4090 as the graphics card, and not the graphics chip in your CPU? Is this only in MSFS? And OP, check other software...maybe run a 3d benchmark or something just to make sure 3d is working well | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
December 5, 20223 yr Make sure the card is fully seated too. Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
December 5, 20223 yr Can you take a screenshot in dev mode with the FPS window visible and post it here thanks. That will give people a starting point for diagnosis. Edited December 5, 20223 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick

I have virtually the same machine specs, all ultra (or highest setting) and terrain LOD at 400 and am still getting over 90 fps over New York for example in full 4k, so it isn’t that. Hope he finds what it is. I9-13900kf - rtx4090 32gb ddr5 4800mhz, 2TB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD internet - 300+ mbs / Honycomb Alpha yoke / Saitek Throttle Dell 43” 4K
December 5, 20223 yr An i9 13900K and an RTX 4090 should not get those results. I'm guessing you've tried to reinstall the drivers? Are you getting similar performance in other games, or is it just MSFS? Is the 16-pin connector on your card fully seated, so your GPU is getting the power it needs? Is the cooler on your CPU fully installed like it should be? What temperatures is it getting? Is the CPU power cable from the PSU connected to the motherboard? As I pointed out in my earlier post with virtually the same equipment as OP, he should be generating very high frames. I wondered at first if his render scaling was set all the way up, but it appears he is actually under 100% there. I’m also wanting to assume that this is a newly purchased PC in which case a call to the manufacturer may be in order. Maybe the OP did the upgrade, and as you said something isn’t properly installed. As Farlis said above, the problem is the CPU, not the GPU. Probably heating and throttling or other CPU problem.
