Not sure what you're referring to? Snow on runways? If so, I mean no disrespect, but this doesn't compare to editing orthos/clouds with an Imagemagick script, although I'm all for very simple solutions to complex problems MFS was the first sim to use AI tech with flight sims, it's only the start of this amazing branch of tech that I personally believe will change the world over the next few years. I can't imagine it will be long before it can texture and create buildings for us and reproduce airports to a decent standard (I've already seen tech demos of it texturing models)

Got it or shock horror, you can have fun with X-Plane as well as use it as a deadly serious aviation tool, and android, ipad, xbox and playstation are pretty much in direct competition with each other. 1 minute ago, tonywob said: Not sure what you're referring to? Its clear that XP12 is behind everyone else, including its predecessor and a sim released "16" years ago...and that's a bad thing for LR.
December 16, 20223 yr In considering why some would claim that MSFS is the best sim like the OP vid, I often look back to 2019 when Austin was putting a spin on the fact that he had no substantial updates planned / coming to XP, and instead talked about the “way off” future world of sim code convergence for desktop and mobile devices. Little did he (or the masses) know…that Asobo was putting together a complete package, and was focusing on that “code” convergence themselves. Its weird how critics saw X-Box and cloud gaming as a negative and not the steps towards bringing that “code convergence” to reality in a way that got MSFS 10 million users having essentially the “same” flight experience across various “gaming” platforms. As a side note…XP mobile both sucks and lives in an isolated space where it is dominated by Flight Pilot 3D Simulator (100M+), Turbo Prop FS (10M+), and Flight Sim 2018 (10M+) and more on GP. All of these other sims have a 4+ star rating and XP sits at a humble 3.7. Much like its steam stats, XP mobile is far behind the competition in the mobile space. I think that the 2019 MSFS announcement was “check”…and that “mate” will happen somewhere in 2023 or early 2024 for all of the civil sim competition. I believe that mostly all “new” simmers will opt for MSFS going forward. How many more fee required updates can P3d offer given the last 2 years and future planned MSFS freebies? Will XP11 users move up to XP12, or continue to stick with XP11 as the steam stat shows? Finally, the vid below shows the flight sim world just before the MSFS storm….it was dull, with an out of touch Developer with no real plans of advancing XP with respect to users were asking for and “railing on” about future things he could not even put a date to. When you contrast this vid below with the latest Asobo dev live stream (posted earlier)…its easy to see the reasoning behind the “title” of the vid in the OP. Asobo / MSFS is that future that Austin was speaking of… Note:…. Somewhere around the 13:40 mark… “Chris now has the source code of the mobile version 75% equal to the desktop Chris has played the long game here and so what Chris is doing is he is setting us up for a world where eventually the phone and the desktop are basically either the same codebase or almost the same codebase” Somewhere around the 14:16 mark… “I think there's only one possible future and that's convergence with the desktop where when you log on to this virtual world that I was telling you about you absolutely just log on with your phone really it's irrelevant and you can log on with it you know in phone you're still flying the airplane who cares...somebody else could be in VR goggles in front of a ten thousand dollar Mac Pro somebody else is on a used iPhone but who cares, they both look the same in VR yeah so that's absolutely without question the inevitable destination.” Edited December 16, 20223 yr by OverTheEDJ

The latter is an aerodynamic quagmire. Didn't you watch the OP video? Edited December 17, 20223 yr by blingthinger Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Congrats on starting to catch up with the rest of us. Thread for that is here: AutoATC Developer
December 17, 20223 yr Author I'm just happy to fly in a flight simulator where "everything feels more authentic". 🙂 You prefer other aspects in a flight sim? Legit! Different priorities for different folks... "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".
