Personal attacks are so 2019

You took that personally? My statement was generic describing anyone who literally shudders thinking that the current state is 'bad for LR'. There's nothing different now than there was when v11 came out.

I would not debate it because it is very subjective and I can certainly see what folk like about both sims FM,

show that it is committed to development post release

If 3 decades of continual development and hiring/expansion is not enough to show commitment to you, you've clearly already made your decision. And you've stated as much.

You repeatedly show disregard for history and clearly have no desire to know or support the future of XP.

Friendly reminder: WHITELIST AVSIM IN YOUR AD-BLOCKER. Especially if you're on a modern CPU that can run a flight simulator well. These web servers aren't free...

Good points on that post up until the above.

As to that, it's laughable, actually. All I can say is go compare the 407 in both X-Plane and MSFS. Nemeth's iteration is sub-par, to say the least.

Only DCS Gazelle (the laughing stock of DCS) is inferior to MSFS' helos, lol! And even still, prior to SU 11 it was arguably at least as good as anything using Asobo's FM.

DCS, like X-Plane, has it's issues with helo FM's, but they remain quite a bit more refined than even Asobo's genuinely very good Cabri. Especially so now that helos seem to be becoming a LOT more popular across most of the sims.

Thanks for sharing your opinion. We disagree on which sim has the better flight model. Simple.

But then again, I don't think that many would argue that HPGs 135 and 145 Heli had a horrible flight model given that MSFS had no in-house FM at the time of their development. Yet HPG has high download stats on FS.to and their payware H145 is very popular.

HPG put a heavy focus on the immersion factor and the overall flight experience with HEMS variants, mission, passengers, hoist etc. So once again, when you look at the popularity of MSFS in general, the FM does not seem to be the sole determining factor is choosing which sim is best (much like the vid in the OP).

All you really have to do to see the differences is hover taxi around the airfield, and fly an IGE takeoff & landing.

I practice this a lot, and I choose MSFS as having the best overall Heli FM out there.

one way or another MSFS as paid for in 2020 is in the last throws of its development cycle, one way or another new dev requires new money. For all the good will in the world Asobo cannot keep iterating on it without the income stream to fund it. Maybe MSFS2024 will fare better, then we can start all this yet again.

In the meantime I'm going to be building on and enjoying the best flight sim today, XP12.

over and out.

In almost every thread on this platform and others there is always that someone who just has to bring up the other sim, I don't get it. You just don't see it the other way on the MSFS or P3D forums, rarely is there someone saying "my sim is better than theirs" on those forums. Why? Can we just accept that the 3 sims are just different, that there are plusses and minuses for each platform? I currently have all 3 sims on my ssd(P3D, X-Plane 12 and MSFS) and I enjoy all 3 of them. If I want to find the abandoned airfield in the little town I'm from I use MSFS, if I want to fly a really good plane I fire up P3D and fly an A2A plane, the same goes for my wonderful Aerobask Phenom, if I have the urge to fly that I use X-Plane. Each of these sims do one thing or another better, or worse. Everyone is of course entitled to their opinion but your opinion is yours, it may not be mine. Each of these sims are unique in their own ways and I at least try to use them for my most enjoyment, there really is no best or worst sim.....

Seems like you are more concerned about the valid points that I made, and you avoiding my questions that shows the flaws in your logic. Again, what do you make of Austin's throwing shade at MSFS during his interviews as it relates to the "are you worried??" question that you pose to folk you claim throw shade at XP???

XP12 does not represent 3 decades of effort to advance the sim. It shows stagnant develpment and a knee jerk response to MSFS. In 2019, LR had no plans of advancing the sim in the near future, and their presentation at the 2019 convention was horrible.

History shows that LR did not support the future expansion of XP. There is a reason why MSFS is celebrating 10 million users and XP has almost no buzz around the release of XP12. LR dropped the ball years ago, and MSFS is unlikely to fumble anytime soon.

Once again I made the mistake of coming here to see what’s going on with XP12, only to find pages and pages of “my sim is better than yours.”  Some things never change.  Having the last word, and/or always being right is clearly an obsession with a few folks.

You know it’s more than an obsession for some people but signs of personal insecurity. Common signs of insecurity are: having to always be right, demeaning other people who don’t agree with you, defensiveness, constantly trying to show that they are smart by pointing out flaws in other people’s opinions, arrogance, becoming the center of attention, etc.

People who don’t suffer this affliction generally don’t care what other people do or what other people enjoy. In this case, what sim people use that you don’t like.

You can see a lot of that behavior in this thread and a lot of the posts here reflect that, not all, but some and usually from the same users over and over.

If you feel the simulator you use is the best, you should feel secure in your decision and not feel the need to constantly defend it and your decision to use it.

Going to lock this one now as it’s more than run its course.
