I forgot to mention and can't edit my post anymore.

Starting from this version 1.2.6, the installation folder is standardized : "vbcorp-airport-l52-oceano-upgrade" (instead of the previous old "vbcorp-l52-oceano-upgrade").

In other words, delete any of my Oceano airport version installed in "vbcorp-l52-oceano-upgrade" before copying "vbcorp-airport-l52-oceano-upgrade" into your Community folder.

Enjoy!

  • Add new free model animated windsocks by TheAirportGuys. Thanks to him! It replaces the default MSFS windsock which is more for Europe.

Caution: new folder installation. Please remove any older version previously installed in “vbcorp-airport-l52-upgrade”. Now the proposed folder in the distribution .zip is “vbcorp-airport-l52-oceano”.

Just conducted my first flight out of there yesterday and it was a very nice looking, small personal type of airfield. It has that nice, comfortable and homely feel to it. Great stuff Vincent 😊

This a great airport and one of my favorites. Also The beach looks so much better in 2024. I'll try it tonight.

Just a note...the people by the soda machine appear from farther away in 2020 than 2024. Is there some setting I have different that makes this happen or is it a function of the airport. I tired the airport in both versions. There are different static planes in each version. interesting.

The bi-plane is the same in both versions.

The Level of Detail (LoD) and how object are displayed from different distance are managed differently from MSFS2020 to MSFS2024. The autogen static aircraft is still a mystery for me in MSFS2024 😉

Some stocked object correctly displayed at all distance in MSFS2020 pop up at the last minute in MSFS2024. Custom object need to be compatible with the new MSFS2024 requirements which is a good thing as it's a memory optimisation for the benefit of all (PC and console users). Unfortunately, all this require 3D modeling skills and time to do so.

An alternative way is just to port everything without really converting them to the MSFS2024 standard. This is the path I've choose for my sceneries (20+). Even this, is very time consuming as vegetation, underlying satellite imagery may behave differently between MSFS2020 and MSFS2024. For example, I spend 8+ hours (because I'm not a pro of course) fixing stuff for Gillespie (KSEE) and I hardly see the end 😉
