AI With No Liveries

Featured Replies

I have installed the FSLTL Base Models and using it with the MSFS REAL TRAFFIC option.  MSFS GROUND TRAFFIC is set to 0.  I see quite a few aircraft with no liveries (all white aircraft).  Is there any way to assign actual liveries to these aircraft using the ModelMatchingMagic utility ?

Simple answer NO. Modelmatching seem to have been broken with SU11, we will have to wait on Asobo to fix.

You can disable the generic white paints though on the startup config...

The op mentioned that he was using the MSFS REAL TRAFFIC so the settings in FSLTL mean nothing. The model matching is broken since one of those updates. On top of that FSLTL with as many liveries as it does include, it is still missing many so you will see lots of white and also mismatched liveries.

I don't mind seeing the actual FSLTL model with a blank livery occasionally.   There will be a fix for that at some point.  What really triggered me were those pointy nose hideous Airbus'esque  models from the MSFS AI library.   Not even sure what the model designer was trying to make there.   In fact, it would be a great idea if Asobo replaced those awful default models with something which actually resembles the aircraft, regardless of the fact that third party options are available.   Fortunately you can turn that off.

FPS friendly models I guess. Going in a straight line from point a to b to c (=pointy) is less polygons instead of using multiple points/lines or bezier curves.

It's more likely that the avoided any resemblance to real airframes on purpose. Because being first party they would probably need permission to include the likeness of any real aircraft in the sim.

That would really be the best solution - vote on that !!

But they really aren't any better than the other AI models that look the way they are supposed to.

You can disable them by either removing their aircraft.cfg entry or editing the entry to remove them as ai.
