January 8, 20233 yr Anyone know if the Carenado C182 works with the G1000 NXi? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
January 8, 20233 yr Yes, perfectly, as it uses it by default. I actually think the C182 is quite good, but there are the usual Carenado haters of course. I do use the sound pack from FTSim for this as it improves the sounds a lot. Their C208 sound set is excellent also. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. January 8, 20233 yr Author Thanks I picked it up on sale for about 14 USD. Price of McDonald's these days... I'm doing some quick and dirty repaints for it - but I can't seem to force change the dynamic registration's color. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
January 8, 20233 yr Yes, as Bob says, it uses the NXi by default. I find it an enjoyable plane (but it's clear that it was one of the first payware released for MSFS and it hasn't aged so well, visually). The only really 'bad' thing I find about it, is the engine sounds, which are great on the exterior and truly dreadful in the cockpit! I would love FTSim's sound pack and would gladly pay $10 or so for it, but the subscription only Patreon way of getting it, just isn't for me. Not for a sound pack! Yes, I could subscribe for 1 month then cancel, but ...meh. But back on track. The C182 is pretty good with the NXi, but nothing groundbreaking otherwise. January 8, 20233 yr Author Can you guys who own this thing help me with something? @bobcat999 and @JYWI made these two simple liveries. But they don't work together but they do work separately at least on my rig. When one is enabled the other doesn't work and vice versa. I've got no freaking clue why this is happening. Sounds like a Carenado model bug to me. Both files are less than a MB each - if you could run them both and separately and see if they work or don't work for you I'd be very thankful. I need to make sure this isn't just on my rig. And then I need to figure out why in the world this is happening. They look like this and you can set whatever registration you like: https://www.dropbox.com/s/anc85sumo2q25tm/livery_Carenado_Cessna_182T_Skylane_MaroonGold.zip?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/3vm15mr9x8ahmxn/livery_Carenado_Cessna_182T_Skylane_BlueRed.zip?dl=0 Untitled-2 by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr 18B by Ryan Butterworth, on Flickr | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
January 8, 20233 yr I thought Carendo said on FB they where updating the c182 soon, anyone know if that happened yet and if so what changed ? Ron Hamilton "95% is half the truth, but most of it is lies, but if you read half of what is written, you'll be okay." __ Honey Boo Boo's Mom

I have a minimal monthly subscription because I like to support the developer, plus the updates / new sound files come out quite regularly. But if you want, you can just do the minimum Patreon subscription for the month, download the files you want, then quit the subscription. Obviously this feels slightly wrong, but there is nothing stopping you from doing this. My subscription is £2.40 per month, and I love the C208 sounds with the Black Square steam gauge addon as well. I also have the much better Twin Otter sounds. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). Also the autopilot annunciations are NOT on the pfd because they are on the KAP140. But the vertical speed only shows on the pfd lol. They probably didn't know exactly what they were doing at first. Also the view over the dash is kinda weird... If you raise your seat then your view out the side is completely gone.
