I think it was the title that put people off. But once you watch the film the title says it all.

You did better than I did. I watched 5 minutes and found out that it wasn't a history program. Never watched since.

Curiosity, nothing more.

I'm not sure how 73 episodes, 8 seasons, can be assessed based on watching one episode. I tend to give a series a bit longer. 😁

You don't need to if you think what you are looking at is rubbish and of no interest to you.

The first episode tells you little though Ian. Every series evolvs, often quickly. I've seen a number of series that haven't impressed me much with the first episode, but I decide to stick it out for a few more episodes. I often find myself glad I did. 

I recall not being too impressed with the first episode of The Man in The High Castle. I watched a few more episodes though and loved it.

Works the same in reverse. I watched the first episode of Picard and liked it. Watched a few more and decided it was subpar. 

Travelors on Netflix is another example. First episode mediocre. Stuck it out and really got into it.

First episode of TNG, I wasn't too impressed. Who is this boring guy playing Picard I thought. Watched a few more episodes and was blown away.

You often have to give things a chance and not dismiss them after one 50 minute episode

Fair enough.

I have just finished watching the first season. It was a bit of a mixed bag for me, but I enjoyed it enough to want to watch Season 2 when it arrives. I have never played the game, so I do not know how closely the TV adaptation follows the game's storyline. Nevertheless, it is the type of game that suits the transformation. Compare that with Halo (which I also quite enjoyed) which betrayed its video game roots in the rather bland and disappointing season finale.
