Yes, it's on Amazon Prime video, but you must have an HBO subscription.

Just clarifying.

Dave

Didn’t realized that. I thought it was free judging by what it said when I googled it. In the search it said with “Premium Subscription” which I figured it meant was free. I didn’t realize you needed a HBO subscription.022B84FF-710C-4B29-8ADB-1EDD4A8AC149.thumb.jpeg.0909111dbfc9dab20e0f4e8403473662.jpeg

Meaning, I thought an Amazon Prime subscription meant it was free. I didn’t realize that they’re was such a thing as a Premium subscription.

I'm about to watch episode 3.

Apparently people are going bonkers about this episode, saying its the best episode of a TV show ever.

It will have to go some to beat some of the GOT episodes.

As someone who has played both games, the adaptation is pretty spot on from the source material. Not a bad story at all.

I'd be surprised if some members of this community could get into this show, however. Of course, if you can't deal with this show (TLOU as it is abbreviated) then TLOU2 is off limits. Especially when they introduce Abbey.

Well, episode 3 was certainly profound, cinematic, very well done.

But whoever said it was the best episode of any TV series to date, needs to go and see a psychiatrist. I would have thought there's a treatment for EHS. Extreme Hyperbole Syndrome.

I tried to do an episode on HBO Max tonight. I watched the trailer and it didn’t interest me much but gave E1 a shot. I got about 10 minutes in and couldn’t do it. To be honest though, I’m not at all into SciFi, StarTrek, Star Wars, futuristic space/alien invasion movies. When I was a kid I liked the original Star Wars movies but once I got into my teens and older, I lost interest in that type of stuff as well as video games. I’ve never watched GOT, Hunger Games or any of those types of shows or movies either. The only show I’ve ever liked that might be considered SciFi was the X-Files series and the movies and a spin off of it that I can’t remember the name of that didn’t last long.

😲 I'm shocked!

Yep, this is the unfortunate "Western Canada landscape effect", which oftentimes does require a suspension of disbelief regarding the setting of a show or film.  A surprising number of TV shows and movies have been filmed in British Columbia and Alberta.

The unrealistic landscape really becomes evident in TV shows like the X-Files and Stargate SG-1, where episode after episode you see the same Pacific Northwest landscape no matter what town, state, country, or planet the story takes place in/on.

It must be very cost-effective to film up there, because there are so many different landscapes in the USA to film in which would better fit the bill and be much more realistic.  Alas, money is always the main concern.

To be fair, there is also the "Southern California landscape effect".  I've watched shows supposedly set in the Eastern USA where you can clearly see the California semi-arid hills and mountains in the scenery, which I always notice and which makes the show less real for me.

I’ve just watched the last episode. Kept away from this topic until now in case of spoilers.

What a load of tripe. And nine episodes aren’t enough apparently. A second series is planned. 21st century answer to Lost. No more for me.
