I’m going to give FSFO a try today.

You could also make a FREE (thirty-day) trial with Multi Crew Experience and realise that it is highly customisable (Flows and checklists designed for each aircraft that you can modify if you wish), interacts with ATC (including through the Co-Pilot), ground and cabin crew, and can be used with ANY aircraft at no additional cost, meaning that after using it with two aircraft, you will save on the other piece of software that you will need to buy for each aircraft.

Looking at his page is only free for b747

it will work with any aircraft (best suited for passenger airliners with both cabin and flight crews)

try here:

I’m not really interested in having the program run flows etc, I like to be the one pressing buttons and getting the aircraft set up.  So which one is better in this area is not a factor for me.

My priorities would be ease of setup and use plus audio quality.

This one might do the job for you.

Did a flight with the free FSFO today and it went well, I was able to configure things pretty much as I wanted other than I can't figure out how to have the virtual first officer not turn on the autopilot for me...likely a setting I'm missing somewhere.

Decided to buy the Fenix one to give it a try.

cool, as another Fenix/FSFO user, let me know your thoughts on the 'payware' component of FSFO.  I must admit I have been on the fence a bit with this.

Hey Regis!

If you downloaded FSFO from .to, you're probably using an older version.  Get the latest version here: https://flightsimfirstofficer.com/downloads/

If you wait until Friday, version 1.2.9.0 will be ready to use; you can use FSFOs default profile with any aircraft for free.  Even as a free utility, you get a free Runway Advisory Alert System (RAAS), Pax/Cargo simulation, GSX integration (FSFO will control the GSX menu for you), full Log Book, passenger management (food, drinks, and seatbelts) and flight rating system.  I'm also working on a full pilot career and company management module, which will integrate with FSFO and be free.  If you're interested in FSFO's GSX integration, you can look below.  Regardless, for your use, it doesn't sound like you need to pay for an FSFO aircraft profile...just use the free version...

I forgot to answer your AP question.  If you don't want FSFO to engage/disengage your autopilot, go FSFO > ... > Configuration > SOPS and enter 0 in AUTOPILOT ON and AUTOPILOT OFF options.  That tells FSFO to leave the autopilot alone.

As a previous MCE user in FSX/P3D time, I tried FSFO in 2 test flights yesterday with the A320.  I did not know about this program before.

It was a very nice surprise and experience as the program is highly configurable as explained before in this thread, versatile, and covers various pilot skills and wishes.

As an exclusive VR headset user, I believe it miss a very few options to avoid the need to access the UI once the flight is loaded (which is essential in VR). Here is my short feature request list:

1/ Vocal / joystick button command to initiate the pushback sequence (currently I have to click the blue arrow function - the "Ready for pushback" vocal command does not start the process)

2/ Accept multiple joystick ID's to configure buttons

3/ A button function to ACTIVATE the voice recognition (yesterday I sneezed during the cruise and my FO set Full Flaps , speed alarm warned ... please don't laught) Currently it has only the MUTE function available.

I was unable to find a Discord or support forum for this product, is there one somewhere?

EDIT: forgot the most important!

4/ I need a vocal command to request my coffee 😉

You may not be aware of this Roland, all registered users for Ultimate Edition qualify for a free update to MSFS. So far all these planes are fully integrated, with more to come via free updates

Fenix A320 (including dialling radios and FCU) (has button control as well now)

FlyBywire mod (has button control as well)

Pmdg 737 (has button control as well)

Aerosoft CRJ (has button control as well)

Inibuild A310

CS 777 & CS 767

All default Asobo planes

Next will be Maddog and BAE146 in MSFS as well as IFly737 MAX in P3D V5

Isn't it necessary to enter the V-speeds for the callouts in case of the Fenix?

Just grab the Demo here

IMPORTANT: Unlike with Prepar3D, with MSFS, you need to follow this rule.

1 - Whatever the supported complex plane you intend to fly MUST be set as the one MSFS loads on startup (this is to ensure all lvars are accounted for)

2- Do not start MCE while setting up the flight and rather wait until the aircraft has completed loading, in ANY state, ready to go.

Hey Gerald!

I'm the developer for FSFO; however, I have immense respect for MCE and your exceptionally fair pricing scheme.  If FSFO doesn't meet my users' needs, I always suggest MCE.  It's a great product with great customer service.

In the FSFO freeware version - yes.  I take the values from the MCDU and manually place them in the FSFO settings.  Don't know about the payware component for the Fenix.
