People are saying it does not have an AP - which is likely realistic.  I don't ever remember flying an archer 2 with AP.  Still for those long hauls a 2 axis heading and alt hold is appreciated.

We had a STEC-20 in our club Archer II but it wasn't very good. Useful for single pilot IFR while changing freqs or dialing in the 430.

EDIT: I'll stick with the JF Arrow for now.

I bought it....it’s very nice for what it is, a slowish fixed gear Piper without an autopilot.

Seems to fly nicely with no crazy back and forth on landing unlike some other planes.

And Ryanbatc has been busy making very nice repaints - nice work Ryan!

The more 1970s cheesier the better! 🙂

Yeah shoot now a few people whom I trust with opinions say this Archer is a good one...even without AP.

Good grief - I was confused - you just issued a couple of great new repaints for the Arrow III, not the Archer II - I figured that out when I went to load them and didn't see them as choices on the Archer II. (facepalm)

Of course, these little Pipers DO look much the same - that said, I'm really loving my new Archer II....just did a nice KBVS - 74S - KORS hop and it was marvelous.

RE only money I hear you, I also sprung for the Thranda 337 for that other lovely sim this weekend. 🙂

Just got it.

I like it so far but anyone found the documentation yet?  Carenado has the Checklists on their website, but I'm after the 'how to change the nav stuff' etc..  No documentation in the normal tortuous path of Sim Objects etc etc...

Well I did but this - it brings back great first flying memories for me.  I actually really like it.  I will do some screenshots and a mini review sometime

I'm actually hearing good things about this in the other place. I'm also hearing that the Just Flight Pipers are getting an update in the next week or two so I'll probably wait for that.

I weakened and resorted to Youtube (I prefer reading as, in a pdf, there generally isn't 40 seconds of advertisements every 3 minutes  😉 ).  Only three ad interruptions and I've got what I need - that there is a tablet in the cockpit for nav systems, ground features, etc.

While I love the Just Flight Arrows and Warrior, I'm not regretting getting this...

If I'm spending money on another GA I'll probably wait for AOA Comanche. I already have a wide selection of GA aircraft both retro and modern like the C310, C414, Beechcraft 17, Piper Seneca Britten Norman Islander, JF Piper 3 and 4 2 etc

I did purchase this early this week and I wrote up a decent little review with it.

I'm really enjoying it - even without the AP it's one of their better products.

I may need to get it after all. I flew an Archer II very much like this a LOT out of KMLB (Melbourne FL) after I retired from the Navy. Loved it.

I have a decent amount of time in Archers and Warriors. Already got the JF Warrior and may pick this one up as well. It looks nice for the price.

Cheers, Pete

Look at all these Archer pilots!!!! I too started in an Archer, a ittle over 20 years ago but had to finish in a C172 (PPL/SEL; IR - not current though). Strangely I ever liked the Cessna's IRL, so I may have to get this too.

Cheers.

Nice review @ryanbatc .  And I am really pleased I got this.  I agree, it would be nice to have an option to go full steam gauge but, to me, this is a great modelling of a much liked aircraft.
