Asobo: ATC & Flight planning Programmer Wanted (Flight Sim)

Featured Replies

I hope they have some sort of open beta for that part...  I'm not a fan of the flight planner thing - I like to enter all of my routes in the FMS/Garmin/GNS whatever avionics are in the sim in real time.

BUT I have a heck of a lot of ATC experience that could really help the sim mature on that front.

I'd rather have my teeth drilled than become a dev again. 😝

That's one of my whines. Jorg is a long time simmer and he knows how sh**ty the FSX planner was and you'd think they put some decent attention to the functionality and the options within it when designing it, but they went for the looks of it rather than functionality for the virtual pilots. You have freeware planners that are more professional than what's in the UI, lol.

Same here!

These two requirements together would seem to narrow the candidate pool quite a bit:

”Mastery of C++

Strong aviation knowledges”

If they’ve been trying unsuccessfully to recruit this for a while then might are sense to find someone with the programming skills and pair them up with an ATC expert?

The crux of the problem.  Devs will most likely need to ramp up on a particular skill.

Most likely need to find an air traffic controller interested in learning programming.

Yes, the implied activity certainly spells good for the future.  Alas!  Nothing in regard to flight planning needs to be developed, only "adopted"!  So much already exists.  Find a way to embrace, not to invent!  No more NIHS! Please!  NIHS has been the greatest limitation of MSFS...

Spoiler

Hint: NIFS means "not invented here syndrome"
