They are not as good as what we have, and that's all I can say.  Trust me on that.

Their satellite system isn't according to some sources, its in second place though. USA then, China, so still very sophisticated. I believe their numbers are high too.

But of course, the capabilities of both nations are classified.

Latest  is that the three objects after the Chinese balloon, may have been just meteorological  or commercial balloons.

Overreacting after the Chinese balloon basically.

Very similar to “the battle of los Angles “ right before America joined WW2 then …….🤔

I suspect the military and those in government who needed to know have known about these for some time.  But the word leaked out and the military had to respond in some way.  And then others in government who don't have a need to know started posturing.

That's usually the way it happens.  Lots of speculation and guessing by those who think they know but really don't.

But it makes for good news cycles and we get to worry about things we know nothing about.

The tires are worn.  The shocks are shot.  The steering is wobbly.  But the engine still runs fine.

Yep, lots of hot air floating around here!  Enough to fill several spy balloons.

I think that is the case with the one shot down over Lake Huron at least. “Octagonal in shape with strings hanging down”. That sounds like some kind of commercial or advertising balloon that got loose.

I think they all were balloons. No aliens this time. 😀

Yeah, Dugald, that means us.  A bunch of blind people trying to describe an elephant.  But it's quite fun, isn't it?  It gives us all an opportunity to sound intelligent.

I'm surprised that all the amateur astronomers out there with telescopes that can see the craters on the Moon and the rings of Saturn that none of them were curious enough to look for those balloons.

I guess it would be a bit of a struggle trying to locate them.

I was thinking while they were scanning the sky thry would have accidentally come upon one.

🤔 I think we've been quite unbiased and sensible about it.

Indeed we have.  And I for one welcome our new feline overlords.
