Core i9-13900K beats Ryzen 9 7900X3D By 16%

Well it's still early days and hardly a comprehensive test, but kind of disappointing if you've been hoping for a performance breakthrough...

We'll see how much better the 7950x3d does!

Goodness, the CPU is not even available yet. This is one benchmark only, and most probably done with an engineering sample, who knows. We cannot make ANY deductions yet.

Other respected sites on YT have said that AOTS's benchmarking doesn't reflect reality. All recommend waiting until a full suite of benchmarks is released.

My technical knowledge is a bit limited, but isn’t there something about the 7900X3D that is expected to be particularly beneficial to CPU bound games like MSFS?

I’m looking forward to a MSFS benchmark so I can buy whatever one wins that battle.

According to the lore, that would be the L3 cache size. I'm looking forward to the slug-fest too! Just nine days to release. Of course, having decided to go with a 13900k,  the petty part of me wants to see the 7950x3d crash and burn. 😆

It will be interesting to see how it stacks up Both Intel and AMD have the same problem the more you put on a CPU the more heat you generates.

I'm waiting for sim benchmarks before casting judgment on the 7xxxx3D.

Waiting for test on MSFS and XP as well, there is a theory that already larger L2 and DDR5 makes larger L3 not worth it, but who knows without a actual test.

The talk is the 7950X is faster in single core bench due lower clocks on the 7950X3D. We will soon find out.

Here is a link from same site that claim 16%

no its someting else

https://tech4gamers.com/ryzen-9-7950x3d-is-5-6-faster/

compare the 13900k to 5800x3d in f1 diff 8% and to 7950x3d 21% is  faster

thats intresting MSFS 2020 the 5800x3d 20% faster then 13900k in toms tests if we ar lucky it can be +30% diff instead of -16%

Interesting 🧐 I think it’s time to discard my 9900k and upgrade .

waiting patiently on benchmarks.

Agree. had my 9900k for four years. Waiting on the arrival of a 7950x3d.

?? The 7950X3D is already for sale.  But you might want to wait for the 7800X3D for sims, unless you want to do compiling or other productivity-type tasks.

My store was sold out fast. They are getting more shortly. I've heard that the 7800x3d should be very good but for me the 7950x3d is about future proofing and in the long run it will be less expensive than upgrading again a couple years down the road.

Not trying to be contrarian, but the 7950X3D is no more futureproof than the 7800X3D will be, as far as flight sim is concerned.   Do you have other non-flightsim tasks you do though?  If you do then yes the 7950X3D would indeed be the best for you.
