In the meantime every time I fire XP12 up its a pleasure. So much so that any motivation I had to even try any of the other sims has evaporated into nothing, my XP11 was ruined from day 1 of testing XP12, I still barely have time to try all the things I want, just today I saw it now has visual references for ridge lift, (ctrl+m after wake turbulence), and realised I still haven't gotten round to giving the gliders a run.

Today a couple of their new(ish) hires helped me with a couple of my bugs, and how all this was possible became clear.

A single LR dev is worth an entire team of any of the other sims, and it is glorious, when PMDG is being held up by simple bugs for months on MS, and little ol me can get fairly complex problems by any measure resolved in hours non of the competition will be able to compete.

So I'll have to disagree with an earlier comment that said xplane is not going anywhere.

Nah man, its going to the moon, this is not just next gen x-plane, its a whole new era of flightsim.

Im just not sure if thats a calzone moon or 100% cheese.

Coming from the other side and more than three weeks of an unfixable situation, it's a pleasure to read these comments. I'm comin' back.

so let the single LR dev then get started on a real G1000 NXi and GNT 530/430 where the MENU button has a function and does what it is supposed to do, like entire teams of the other sims did last year. after all these years still only fragments of a GPS. I am used to more than that from non-FAA approved games. am I the only one, are all you guys really satisfied with such a dumbed-down implementation?

The devices SDK for things like synthetic vision dropped 5 days ago, a lot more than one is almost definitely already on it...

nice but doesn't apply to my request. and while the dev is on it, let him also fix terrain issues like this in NZMF (default scenery, no extra addons), ,latest beta 12.04b2

You need the LiveTraffic plugin, which is actually a better solution than what is on MSFS.  In that sim it had (I assume it is still there) an issue where traffic disappears from view not very far from the observing position. XP12 / LiveTraffic will keep the traffic in view until it is very far away - Livetraffic will plot vapour trails behind aircraft and the aircraft are visible even tens of thousands of feet above. 

LiveTraffic will take ADSB information from several free sources, but I have chosen to subscribe to RealTraffic.

There is no doubt at all the clouds in the latest beta have improved.  More progress to be made - sure, but to suggest there has been no improvement is way off the mark.

Until then, it would appear you know NZMF is closed. closed airports happen IRL to. 🤷‍♀️

The gateway gods are now updating all the airports for XP12, if you bored waiting for the G1000NXi, why dont you get some airports you love perfected for the rest of us while you wait, as much fun to be had there as actually flying to them.

No simulator is perfect for every person.  If I want to simulate an accurate NXi right now, MSFS will supply that.  However, even though MSFS has an excellent NXi, on balance I prefer XP12, so I am happy with what XP12 has and have the patience to wait for either LR or an addon developer to create something better.

Join the 39,458 registered users making all our flight simming better, or really stop complaining if 10 or 15 mouse clicks to fix an issue you found for the entire community is too much effort for you....
