Fenix Question

Featured Replies

Ever since yesterday (after a windows update), I am not able to get the Fenix loaded correctly.  I've tried a few different liveries and airports but each time, the displays are blank and the EFB says unable to connect.  Can someone point me in the right direction to fix this?  I thought it had to do with firewall settings or something but everything i've tried so far doesn't work.  Thanks!

Try to hand-start the Fenix app. It's name in Windows is "FenixSim A320". That should help.

You should not need to. I recommend you deinstall/reinstall. If that doesn’t fix it you should visit the Fenix Discord for developer support.

So I entered a ticket so we will see what they come back with.  This time after the uninstall/ reinstall, all the screens are black in the cockpit and a few lights show up.  The EFB is black with just the Fenix logo.  Knobs and buttons turn but nothing happens.  I hope to get this figured out soon!

So you are logged in into the Fenix App, yes? If so, try to start it with admin rights. I remember that I had that problem once and solved it by giving admin rights.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Yes... I always start it with admin rights.  I did a few things and have gotten to the point that everything seemed to work with an exception of the EFB.  That remained black with just the logo and nothing would turn on.

Do you have all the Fenix .exe files excluded in your AV program?  I have a bunch of Fenix exclusions in mine (Windows Security) but cannot recall if they had recommended that...

I agree. Any non-Windows AV is the enemy of any flight sim these days.

I can check... Where do I see that to make sure everything is excluded?  IN the windows security app, the firewall has 2 exclusions for the Fenix.. Fenix system and Fenix.GqlGateway.  Should there be more?

I'm using regular Windows AV if I didn't mention that earlier...

I use Webroot, and have not had one issue with MSFS.

In the Windows AV 'Exclusions', I have the entire Fenix folder excluded. Mine shows C:\Program Files\FenixSim A320.
