gremlins, definitely gremlins

If it happens again, it would be interesting to have a screenshot (before and after) with the microprofiler visible.

"Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

On a more serious note (not to imply gremlins are not deadly serious).

There are still a few of these, not sure what thread it was, but very much the "rough edges" I was saying I expect to see fixed around version 12.1X.

one that has popped up a couple of times is lua having a very random hissy fit.

I'm reasonably sure there are also a few weather related ones.

EHAM also seems to have some water issue (which I hope got reported)

ATM, part of my "preflight" is checking everything is stable.

every now and again XP decides its going to hate me for the evening (most of the time because whichever thing I was working on made it explode, but not all the time)

If/when it happens, the two things to include in the screenshot are:

the plugin performance tab, and the microprofiler.

It also helps a lot to check those when everything is normal so you know what they should look like.

The sky also looks quite different between those screenshots?

Your weather went from overcast or stormy to clear.

Notice how external lighting is the same? Internal too. Quite a serious issue.

Well spotted!

ive brought this up before and the xp gods on here have advised its the addon scenery and not a LR issue.

go to the org and see the topics.  people have made lua scripts that have helped with the issue, but again remember its your addon scenery and your pc and nothing to do with LR.

If you install scenery that nukes fps that is

1. definitely the scenery that is at fault

2. really easy to fix yourself, I mean, you could probably pay one of the LR staff to come round to your house and uninstall it for you, but that is going to be a very expensive solution to a really simple problem, but if you need it, they go for around 20,000 rubles per hour plus travel, accommodation and visa expenses (and they only fly private jet). Be much easier to just stick a _disabled in scenery_packs.ini - takes about 2 seconds.

🤷‍♂️

The lighting system is fundamentally flawed.

Eye tracking is coming eventually, needs openXR for that.

until then you have to move the view with your mouse/hot keys in 2D or your head in VR to adjust the virtual iris/pupil.

absolutely phenominal achievement that, my hat off to them.

every other game, sim or tool Ive used always seems to change the lighting of the whole scene when local conditions are otherwise identical. gives it that "real" feeling, rather than looking at a digital camera screen.

still lacking at very low light levels and moonlighting, but that isnt for want of trying, they have just not found any kind of  good solution.

Or use face tracking with a standard webcam. https://github.com/AIRLegend/aitrack

Can you point to those lua scripts? I was told that gateway airports which haven't been manually updated to XP12 cause FPS drops.
