Even with everything tuned down on FSLTL still some stutters

Featured Replies

Been flying around without almost no stutters for months.

Starting to use FSLTL and even when everything is tuned down there are always stutters at airports.

Anyone else also experience this ?

I have been using FSLTL for a few months and it hasn't caused any stutters at all. What are the specs on your PC and settings.

FSLTL models use 4K textures so this may be the source of your stutters. I resized the textures to 2K

If you would like to try it, the software and instructions to do so are here: https://izn-flightsim.s3.amazonaws.com/textureoptimizer.html

Its really easy to do and requires very little effort.

The only time I have issues is at heavy add-on airports. I got rid of the heavy add-on airports. 😁 I'm also not using a complex add-on aircraft...yet...looking at you, A2A.

Thinking about downsizing the textures but that seems to be a hit and miss

It cetainly helped on my low/mid range system with an AMD Ryzen 9 3900, 32GB memory and an RTX 2070 Super.

A new set of files is created by the software I linked, so you can swap back and forward between 4K and 2K to see if it helps.

The only real investment is the time it takes to install and run the conversion software.

Hope this helps.

what does "tuned down" mean? Down to 0? Or down to 30?

My first suspect would be photogrammetry and the second suspect would be the airport scenery.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I cant even go anywhere near the settings in that video at JFK, especially at night, without it looking like Devils Tower at the end of Close Encounters Of The Third Kind. (getting dive-bombed by a zillion ufos)

Blinking lights and flying objects filling the entire sky.... (Not to mention major plane traffic jams on the ground)

It is partly the last few updates have caused some random issues when flying for a while (30+ mins), sometimes it gets slower and starts stuttering. It has happened in places it would not normally happen before, but part of is the FSLTL stuff does contribute and make these worse and more noticeable. The performance is still fine most of the time, but this version isn't the fastest for non-DLSS, as I think the fastest version was maybe 2-3 updates ago, forget.

How am i actually doing this? I'd like to try that but didn't find any info. Thanks!

If you have FSTraffic, you can change the Fsltl settings to prefer FSTraffic liveries.
Just start Fsltl and then say yes when it ask do you want to change settings.

I don't even have the Fsltl livery package installed only use Fstraffic liveries.
