Please see the above recommended procedure.  It worked, but why I don't know.

EUREKA! While I don't really know what I was doing, I used the MS start menu and typed in MS Store, found the log-out, and did so, then typed in Xbox app, found the sign-out and did so.

Then I went back to MS store and logged back in, but had to get a code because heck if I know what my password was.  But successfully logged back in.  Then again using the start box, and Xbox app whatever that is, and signed back in which it did without a password and such.

I closed those boxes and launched the sim from my desktop app, it flashed the Xbox app "success" it says and a big box "play on" or something.

And now it's launching and updating.

Nonsense!

Thank you very much, I have to make sure I have this pinned so if it happens again, I can recall the process.

Fabulous! It is all about the MS store and or the Xbox app not recognizing you are signed in. Unfortunately, some people make dedicated script changes which really messes things up! Fly on!

I am having this issues once again. Looks like it happens every several months. I was able to fly yesterday, but today I am seeing this message again. Tried all those steps above, no luck. What a day 😞

Had it as well, rebooted computer and problem gone.

Overloaded MS servers, I guess 😉
