May 17, 20233 yr Insane! I haven't flown in a few weeks. I decide to give myself some me time and launch the sim. It fails and keeps giving me this error. I do a search and end up with discord discussions, do this, do that reboot...which I do three frigging times. I do another search and get microsoft https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360015985699-Error-message-Please-insert-disc- I try this...and it doesn't work RESET THE MICROSOFT STORE APP On your keyboard, press the “Win Logo” + “R” keys Type: WSReset.exe and press “Enter” A black window will pop up Wait until the pop up disappears and the Store comes up Reboot your computer UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL GAMING SERVICES VIA POWERSHELL Reinstall the Gaming Services app on your Windows 10/11 device: Select the Search icon on the taskbar, type powershell, right-click on Windows PowerShell, and then select Run as administrator. Restart your device and try to install the game again. I DON'T WANT TO REINSTALL, THE BLOODY GAME IS SITTING ON MY C:DRIVE Install the app on that page and select Yes when you receive the User Account Control (UAC) prompt. May 18, 20233 yr Author I am at a dead complete lost on this issue. I have "wasted 1.5 hours trying all sorts of these solutions and nadda. Am I right that there was an internet shut off abruptly to fix a broken water line and remove an electrical outlet and that abrupt shut off did something to screw up MSFS...this is a disgustingly stupid system. May 18, 20233 yr Sorry to hear your troubles! The game disc error is definitely related to your computer not connecting to the servers. Do not do a re-install! This happened to me once over a year ago. Close the sim. Sign out and back in to the store. Start the sim. This fixed the temporary problem. May 18, 20233 yr Same issue this morning. To fix it, signed out of the MS Store and the Xbox app. Didn't restart the PC. Signed back into the MS Store then the Xbox app. Launched via the Xbox app. What a ridiculous problem for us to still be dealing with 2 yrs.+ after launch. May 18, 20233 yr Why don't you just insert the game disc? For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
May 18, 20233 yr I dont have a solution but this is hilarious lol. How much old leftover code from FSX and before are there in MSFS?

ATC was basically cut and paste from FSX. I would say though that FSX was a great accomplishment. It was sad that Microsoft foolishly pulled the plug on it. Not surprising that they used a lot of the basic simulator technology when they decided to revive it. They focused on rebuilding the graphics engine.

I don't even know what this means really. I used the start menu, clicked the MS store and i was logged in. So I logged out, and rebooted and logged back in again to the store nadda, didn't work. So I did it again without rebooting nadda doesn't work. This seem like so much nonsense. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3

While I don't really know what I was doing, I used the MS start menu and typed in MS Store, found the log-out, and did so, then typed in Xbox app, found the sign-out and did so. Then I went back to MS store and logged back in, but had to get a code because heck if I know what my password was. But successfully logged back in. Then again using the start box, and Xbox app whatever that is, and signed back in which it did without a password and such. I closed those boxes and launched the sim from my desktop app, it flashed the Xbox app "success" it says and a big box "play on" or something. And now it's launching and updating. Nonsense! Thank you very much, I have to make sure I have this pinned so if it happens again, I can recall the process. Bryan Wallis aka "fltsimguy" Maple Bay, British Columbia Near CAM3
