Jack, sorry to hear this news! If you enjoy AVSim just a little, I’m sure one of these apps or methods will solve your problem. Don’t give in too easy my friend! Life is too short!

Jack, can you access AVSIM from your desktop computer...much better than phone or tablets...no popup ads...

Thanks for your kind words and advice.  I now have ads blocked on my iPhone.  But if they reappear which sometimes websites seem to circumvent ad blockers and I see one flashing ad which will make me go into a seizure I'll have to quit this site.

Honestly, it’s trash that you have to use an ad blocker to use this site. You should leave out of protest. Losing someone like yourself because of your reasons should speak volumes to avsim.

AVSim is the only site that gives me problems on my iPad with Google ads as the banner runs vertical over text that I am reading. Often an issue when I respond as I have to scroll around to finish what I want to say.

Agreed.  I guess they don’t care that people can and will get seizures from flashing ads.  And to me that’s brutal.

Thankfully the YT channel PBS Spacetime recognized this when I contacted them and removed all flashing graphics and glitch transitions.

If you're at home, use your computer/laptop, it's easier and better! If you're not home, wait until you're home 😉

It’s not the point though.  I’ve seen too many ad blockers circumvented.

Jack, it's pretty rude and sad that you  would accuse Avsim of not caring about someone's health issue. That's just downright false and insulting. Have you ever mentioned this to the Admins?

Several members have mentioned a solution that works with Apple products. Give them a try.

Thank you.

Sorry.  If I offended you I’m sorry.

Let's keep one thing in mind here. Avsim and other web sites that draw readers are businesses. And we are their product. The sell adverts, popups or otherwise. For a web site to survive financially, they must draw people to the adverts...So, again, I repeat...we are the product that Avsim is selling.

Alternatively, give an ad-free experience to donors. Set a fee that compensates for the lack of ad clicking and benefits those who cannot (for whatever reason) use ad-blockers.
If other sites can manage it, then it shouldn't be out of the realms of possibility to offer this service to users of this site.

Just my 2 pennies.
