Nvidia Drivers MSFS Fix.

Featured Replies

I haven't had any CTDs with the latest driver, but during a 30 minute flight I had two "freezes" that lasted about 5/10 seconds.  Expected it to go to the desktop, but it continued with my flight.  It was on DX 11, so I'll try 12 tomorrow.

DLSS gives me 16 frames more compared to TAA and that is HUGE for VR

I got much more fps than that going from a i9900K to an AMD 7800x3D and from a RTX 3090 to RTX 4090.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

all fine here with these drivers, did some long(er) haul in the HW330, PMDG737 and FBW320, all good. FWIW, those using DLSS and see nice fps but blurry glass cockpits: I switched to AMD FSR2 in quality mode with FidelityFX sharpening to 140 . Still get some fsp improvement but have definitely crispier cockpits compared to DLSS in quality mode.

No difference here with mine. Same temps and fan speeds as before.

Depends on the scenario. Most demanding gives me 38-ish now in VR and better everywhere else. Upgraded from a 9900k to a 7950X3D and seeing a 16 to 19 FPS increase so I'm happy with that.

AMD FSR2 doesn't even show up for me in the settings and sharpening doesn't seem to do anything in VR.

haven't tried that, and RTX 4090 FrameGeneration/Frame Doubling unfortunately works only in 2D, but 7800x3D + RTX 4090 combo resulted in roughly 60-90 fps in 8K VR HP Reverb 2, very high settings, general aviation aircraft, double of what I had before. absolutely smooth without any FSR2/DLSS etc.

Kinda sounds too good to be true. What GPU did you have before?

that's what I thought too when I took off for my first flight in the new pc. Never had I expected such a performance increase in VR without FrameGeneration. I was limited to "only" 90 fps due to the HP Reverb G2's 90 Hz display refresh. 😊

I use this profile for my 3090 with fps limited to 60 and in my opinion it's a good compromise in terms of noise/performance:

Do you have any airliner and a big addon airport with traffic? If so, what's the FPS there?

A320 with AAU2 beta 1.33.8.0 @ EGLL rwy 09 , AntiAliasing: TAA, VR mode HP Reverb G2

30% AI offline traffic, 50% ground vehicle traffic: 39 fps

no traffic: 47 fps

Well that's more in line with what I'm seeing in similar scenarios.

while VR, traffic and AAU2 airliner avionics do present a big hit in fps, there's no way the i9900K + RTX 3090 with Windows 10 performs similar to the AMD 7800X3D + RTX 4090 + Windows 11 under identical conditions.
