while VR, traffic and AAU2 airliner avionics do present a big hit in fps, there's no way the i9900K + RTX 3090 with Windows 10 performs similar to the AMD 7800X3D + RTX 4090 + Windows 11 under identical conditions.

Just noticed how outdated my signature is. I'm on W11 now with a 7950X3D and at big airports with the PMDG 737 and traffic I'm now seeing around 38 FPS compared to 24 before (in VR). In cruise I'm not seeing more than 46 FPS though.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

But did you gain enough from a 4090 in the end to justify the investment?

I've always wondered who have so many resources, that they justify spending so much on a GPU?!
If I had to convert it to Danish pricing, I'd have to pay around $2.500-$3.000.

Wheew...

I would have to make a direct comparison 3090/4090 with my AMD 7800x3D in VR. But this all together is less than what flying my real aircraft cost.

Some people have flight sim, some have real lives. 😆

Truth.. I hadn't had a system upgrade in six years and didn't spend much during the covid lockdown.

That's a glitch in the matrix.

Unfortunately still crashing with FG turned on

Faulting module path: C:\Windows\system32\DriverStore\FileRepository\nv_dispig.inf_amd64_675be35f1ba2315e\nvwgf2umx.dll

Using a 4090

Back to 529.49 drivers - stable as a rock.

As the great George Best would have said.  " I spent most of my money on flight simulators, peripherals, and add-ons. The rest I squandered."

Using a 4080 with FG on and zero issues with latest drivers on DX12.
