It eventually does but there is a tiresome wait. Hi Dominique, I get CTG's at any point from the start, to the X-box screen, to the Asobo screen and the Blackhawk screen. Once it gets past the Blackhawk screen, then it's OK and loads up/runs like normal. Best regards, Peter

If these aborted starts are something new, I would try the Standard Operation Procedures😉 : disabling the Community folder files, no NVidia Control Panel Settings tweaks (or the AMD equivalent), no VPN, empty game caches, no launch from an external app etc. And check that you don't have a loose USB connection (headset, joystick etc.) Edited June 22, 20232 yr by Dominique_K Dominique Simming since 1981 - [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

I have tried all of these but they had no effect including having a community folder with nothing in it. I have found that if I restart Windows 10 enough times, it eventually gets going. Best regards, Peter

Things are back to normal, or so I think. But I'm not sure what caused the issue. Thank you for your support. Good deal, Yeah, I actually did delete my folder out as you did and no problems since as I added most my stuff back, did kept out the FSUIPC7 at the moment and have had no issues without it.
June 22, 20232 yr You add anything recently prior to the CTD? That is likely your issue. From time to time I'll run the following commands with admin rights (Powershell).... Go through each of the following steps one at a time. Copy each line, one at a time , paste it into the Dos window (crtl + V) and press return and it will then run. Wait until each runs and finishes before you move on to the next one. When you are completely finished, Restart your computer and then try to see in MS2020 will start and run properly Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /checkhealth Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /scanhealth Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth sfc /scannow Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /AnalyzeComponentStore Dism.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup RESTART your computer as the last step. If you empty the folder but don't delete it wouldn't you still lose the addons? (not everyone uses Addon LInker app)? Hi, With Addon Linker you can deactivate all the add-ons you have, and later you can activate them (totally or partially). Your add-ons will be in the same place where they were. I couldn't imagine me without that app, because I have many airports, sceneries, and aircraft. If I didn't use Addon Linker, the simulator would take a very long time to load! Greetings
June 28, 20232 yr Dear All, I thought that I had cracked it - I remembered that I first had problems not long after I installed the Buttkicker plus the Hapticonnect software. I removed the USB lead from the amplifier and MSFS started up and worked really well. This morning, I started MSFS twice and it started up both times with no issues. However, I ran MSFS this afternoon and it's back to its old ways - it gets to the text after the Blackhawk AI splash screen and then just CTD's. I've tried the various Powershell programs and MSFS restarted OK for a few times. I've run MSFS with a clean community folder and it makes no difference. So, I'm stuffed - I have no more ideas on how t fix it. So if anyone has something that would suggest, please let me know. Many thanks in advance, Peter
