August 16, 20232 yr Hi, Im getting these HUGE frame drops and dont know why. After the drop the frames would jump back up to a nice fluid experience. For exmaple on the Fenix when I load the fuel and passengers thru the EFB the frames would tank just by doing that...I have video showing these frames drops. I have turned off Vpilot and FSLTL injector which I only use for static planes set to "3". You can fast forward on some parts but I placed a big frame counter on the top so it can be easly seen. Dont think my PC would be considered a medium or low end. August 16, 20232 yr Did you try without Flow? Something like this happens when using Flow with the JPL 152 tablet. Someone found a way to disable the tablet and put the tablet functions on Flow and that solved the problem. This could also be a problem between Flow and the Fenix EFB. I would try with Flow disabled to exclude that. August 16, 20232 yr Enable developer mode, look at the frame graph, see what is happening during these drops. Look at your task manger's CPU usage, the all core view, see if that dip corresponds with a spike in CPU usage or perhaps it's related to something within the sim holding up the rendering. That's where I'd start. That's where I'd start. Ill try that, but like you mentioned something could be holding up the rendering..the frames wont dip if I dont change views..I can leave the view where its at and its fine..the moment I change views then it dips dramatically for a while before it picks up again...sometimes it takes a 30 seconds for it to kick back up Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)

August 17, 20232 yr Author Ok, video uploading...this time I noticed my CPU was utilizing around 25-60% when the massive drop happened. Again started big time when I loaded in the passengers, cargo and fuel from Simbrief as you will see. The GPU on the other hand was 90 to 100 pegged when the frame drop happened also show my video settings on the sim in the beginning of the video. Really appreciate the help cause it seems like its only me having this crazy issue with my system. I also did not have Flow enabled Edited August 17, 20232 yr by Bill A Asus Tuf Gaming Plus B550 - Ryzen 7 5800X3D - Asus GeForce 4080 RTX OC Edition - 64GB DDR4 (3600Mhz) - EVGA 850W Power Supply - 2X 1 TB NVME PCIE gen 4 - Windows 11 (25H2)

August 17, 20232 yr Hey I saw the same w my 3080 + 7900x3d. Huge spikes causing fps to drop , I was in dx12. I switched to dx11 and everyhting runs amazing again. I noticed my vram was maxed out in dx12 so probs the video card cant handle dx12 .... I know I wont buy a new card yet so dx11 it is for me. 7900x3d , 64gb 6200mhz 30CL Ram, RTX 3080

There is not much advantage to running DX12 at the moment unless you need or want to use frame generation on a 40 series card. I can just about run 60fps in DX11 anyway with the 4080 on DLSS at 4k. I think you can have top notch CPU and GPU and still get these issues. I do. I sometimes get a random freeze for 4 or 5 seconds while the sim is doing something, and it has nothing to do with framerate or the capability of your computer. I think it is more to do with the sim pausing to load or accessing the internet / MSFS server. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.
