The % difference in gaming is tiny but the desktop performance is a big % gain over the 7800x3d. If you are just MSFS then get the 7800x3d and save a few$$ for other stuff.

7900x3d is a beast. Also much better for everyday productivity than the 7800x3d, this is why I choose it over the 7800x3d which has similar gaming perf to the 7900x3d.

It wont matter, they will force you to run the newer drivers or the game won't run, watch

Of course they will take it away, its gonna kill nvidia sales and profits. Why would I upgrade my 3080 when I get smooth 90+ FPS now , im in literal holy grail territory coming from FS 95 days. MS will probs make it mandatory to upgrade to nvdida drivers which kill the mod. We will see but im just a cynical middle age man now.

I was considering a 4000 series card for the frame generation but now w the software update for other RTX cards (I have 3080) that allows frame gen w AMD software on RTX cards why would I spend crazy money on a 4000 series card? I can tell you w this new software I am getting no less then 90 FPS anywhere anytime in the Fenix A320 which is notorious for being heavy on the system. I can see this setup being very good for at least another 2 yrs.

you should cap your frames at 60 FPS in NCP and see if it helps smoothen things out. Also might need a stronger CPU like a ryzen 7000 series x3d which is at least 30% to 50% stronger in main thread then what you have.

Get a ryzen 7000 x3d before you get the 4000 series card. I think the main thread is still a bottleneck for you. I have a 3080 and get smooth 90FPS w the mod and 0 stutters. Cap frames at 90FPS in NCP and watch the magic.

one thing for me that is really noticeable is the clouds are pixelated. Is this from the FG or is it always that bad , lol??

I also got a CTD the 3rd time testing. no clue what caused it , will continue playing w it but this reminds me too much of the old FSX, more tweaking then simming.....

Just tried it on my system 7900x3d + 3080 10GB. Fenix a320 90FPS on ground at KDTW maintains well above 60FPS on rotation and 100FPS in air. Yea it seems to be the real deal. The budget for the 4000 series card has been reallocated 🙂

From the other thread about CTDs: OK guys I found my issue w the CTDs or system hangs w SU14. On ground 60FPs Cpu load and temps were low, 12ms cpu time and gpu 10 or less ms. CPU temps like 55c/65c. Take off from Kdtw payware w either the fenix or pmdg (repeated w both) and about 10m into the flight the computer start to throttle and I mean biiiig time, Ive never seen this before , temps spike to 90C which is insane on the 7900x3d, but the weird thing is the thread and cpu loads were not any different then on ground. I REALLY have no idea whats up w that but I repeated it twice and the same area over michigan the cpu went crazy hot throttled and turned off the system probably causing the hang and ctds. I went to bios and set the PBO to limit to 80c. Tried again and had a couple spikes up to 80c but system did not stutter/hang or CTD. There might be something wonky going on in the game threads. not sure but found my issue. I suggest you all monitor temps and make sure your cpu doesnt get some throttling. You wont know it by thread load as I said my thread load was low and still CPU got maxed out! peace

yes! Was in cruise w Fenix and system hang no response , no error msg. Had to turn off system and reboot. That hasnt happened in MSFS to me , ever. I thought it was from some of the graphics settings I was playing w in windows and nvidia. This happened after numerous CTDs which were for me very rare in MSFS in the 3 yrs its been out. Is MSFS bricking 2020 so we all move to 2024??? well I cant rule that out.

installed a new m.2 drive and decided to a full new install.... I have 500MB internet and this is just insanely slow. started it almost a day ago and still not installed everything. most of the time its downloading at 3mbps/avg. Its not my internet everything checks out at max speeds.

Really, he deliberately made the fenix look bad? Hes one of the best guys on youtube and professional , this is absurd pov tbh.

I will just ask are you sure the MSFS threads are running on cores 0-7 ? on my 7900x3d windows does not and never has parked the msfs cores on the cache cores so you wont get the best performance. I use Lasso to manually park msfs only to my cache cores which are 0-11 on the 700x3d... you get at least 20-30% main thread performance by doing this.

Hey I saw the same w my 3080 + 7900x3d. Huge spikes causing fps to drop , I was in dx12. I switched to dx11 and everyhting runs amazing again. I noticed my vram was maxed out in dx12 so probs the video card cant handle dx12 .... I know I wont buy a new card yet so dx11 it is for me.

dx12 is unusable on my 3080, get massive cpu use spikes , switch back to dx11 and smooth as butter....

@Aamir my issue seems to be dx12. I switched back to dx11 and the stutters went away. Sorry it seems not A320 related but my sim doesnt like dx12 since the last update.

Flew from KTOL to KDTW, final approach major massive stuttering upon landing and A/C crashed , lost control due to wind shifts and some weird stuff happening.. yea maybe this eastern europe update ruined my MSFS , Ive never had stutters like this before , ever....

Just ran the plane from KTOL and it seems to not stutter. Maybe there is an issue w the mkstudios KPHL addon then. Will test w another aircraft to see if repeated.

Im watching the frametimer in dev mode and seeing 14-16ms CPU but get major red/purple spikes every 10seconds or less if not panning, causing FPS to drop to teens. Im locked @ 30fps. If panning huge stutters almost right away. I have a 7900x3d 3080 rtxc, which never had issue with stutters before.

I deleted the Old version. Installed the first new version which was stuttery then ran this update. will try to delete this one and reinstall fresh , hope it works cuz this is terrible.
