Do you think it's reading runway data on the fly as an airport is selected? That would make sense; would actually be a good way to do it. It certainly seems to be doing this. Ive just checked runway 23 at EGPF (Glasgow), the Pyreegue addon version. The runway is shown as 8714ft in the EFB and FS2020 VFR map lists it as 2656m, which is 8713ft 10.92 inches! Navigraph charts on the other hand, list runway 23 as 8730ft.

That definitely seems to be the ideal way to do it then; the runway your data is calculated for is always the same as what you see out the window. Perfect. Andrew Crowley

I know there are SDK functions to read airport data. Software like LittleNavMap uses them to scan and build a database of all airports in the sim - but that takes some time. It would make sense to do an ad hoc retrieval of the specific airport and runway at the time it is selected in the EFB. With my Reaction setting at 80% for the feeling of weight, I pull back on the stick and she begins to rotate, hold her at about 5 degrees and she comes up perfectly, once we're clear and I retract the gear I pitch her up to 12 degrees or thereabouts and we're away. I know others have been having a rotten time with it so it's all a bit confusing for me. I went with a flaps 10 takeoff today and it was as smooth a take off as you could ask for. No idea. What does the reaction setting do? Anyway I‘m not gonna change my settings for a single aircraft. For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Couldn't be easier to set up. Every aircraft has different weights and dynamics, surely you'd want to simulate that too? ie: heavier aircraft "feeling" heavier under your controls for example. November 3, 20232 yr Wanted to try the Navigraph EFB built in the PMDG 737 for the first time today but I can only enter the Airport ICAO and the runway condition and nothing else. No slope, no length etc.. Is this an issue? Wouldn't be surprised if this is designed by PMDG in order to force people into a Navigraph subscription 😂😂

If the furore over the tail strike issue is because people were using their Cesna settings with the 789 then I won't be a bit surprised! 😆 B450 Tomahawk Max / Ryzen 7 5800x3D / RTX 3060ti 8G / Noctua NH-UI21S Max Cooling / 32G Patriot RAM / 1TB NVME / 450G SSD / Thrustmaster TCA & Throttle Quadrant / Xiaomi 32" Wide Curved Monitor 1440p 144hz

Tried it with a couple other ICAO codes too, but unable to get any runways.. Can anyone confirm that the EFB is working without a Navigraph Subscription? I'm asking 'cause in every "tutorial" or introduction on youtube, everyone's just hitting "import from OFP" but I can't do so as I don't use simbrief for planning. They do not support any other types of flight plans. Also, Simbrief is free. It uses a Navigraph account, but you don't have to pay for it.

Absolutely not usable for people who don't want to use simbrief.. 😅🙈🙈🙈 It took PMDG years to develop an EFB in which you can't even just put the airport values in by your own... don't know what to say..

I think there are some bugs with how the perf calc fields are not editable, so it's possible at some point you can edit them. That said, why don't you use simbrief? It's pretty much the standard for airline flight planning.

There was a bug when trying to edit certain values in the tablet using the on screen keyboard; be sure you're using your physical keyboard when trying to change values. That said, not everything is going to be editable. They're reading sim runway data and you're not going to be able to override a lot of it, because that would be a bad idea. None of the runway data comes from simbrief or Navigraph. Andrew Crowley
