Brilliant, and thanks for the video.. Thanks Ray. November 26, 20232 yr Intriguing setup Howard. Making excellent use of limited space and creating a configurable environment that allows for more than just airliner flying. I've been trying to just build a B737 setup but life keeps getting in the dang way. So now you're excellent video has just made me feel totally inadequate LOL!! So, what software are you using for your hardware to MSFS interface, and did you build the overhead panel from scratch or purchase assembled components? Thanks for taking time to share your creation mate. You're an inspiration. Cheers Terry. Edited November 26, 20232 yr by Lord Farringdon No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea. If I have given just one peson some inspiration then it's worth making the video. To answer your questions. I don't run any exotic software, only Axis&Ohs, FSUIPC and SPAD. The overhead panel is from VRInsight (several videos on my YT channel) and that simply needs the paid version of SPAD. The CDU from Cockpit Master comes with it's own bridging software, simply plug and play, in fact all my components are plug and play. The EFIS and MCP are from CPFlight and they come with their own driver which use FSUIPC to connect. Propwash Simulation radios etc, again comes with it's own software. The self built switch panel, on the right hand side, at the bottom of the MIP, runs with Leo Bodnar card and is recognised by MSFS, so easy! November 27, 20232 yr Great Video Howard, Well you've inspired me 😄 I messaged you a few weeks ago on YouTube about purchasing the VRInsight overhead panel, I was the guy asking about the import duties. Well long story short my panel arrived today 😄 Really lovely piece of kit, I've had it all running fine in MSFS and the PMDG 737, I rested the unit on my knees just so I could test it out haha. I now have the job of trying to figure out a way of mounting it over my main monitor. It's quite a heavy unit. Dean Farley
November 27, 20232 yr Looks great and I love the hybrid approach. I too have toyed with the idea of building a full blown home cockpit but I would never want to limit myself to a single aircraft, yours looks like a great solution. I currently have a scattering of different controls and avionics so it would be a fun design exercise to piece them all together in some logical fashion 😀 Dave Current System (Running at 4k): ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F, Ryzen 7800X3D, RTX 5090, 55" Samsung Q80T, 64GB DDR5 6000 RAM, EVGA CLC 280mm AIO Cooler, Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS & Stick, Thrustmaster TCA Quadrant & Add-on, VirtualFly Ruddo+, TQ6+ and Yoko+, GoFlight MCP-PRO and EFIS, Skalarki FCU and MCDU

I measured the four narrow bolts that come with the panel that are used for mounting and got some longer ones and then mounted it directly onto 18mm MDF. Having said that, it's important that you ensure they don't protrude longer than they need to into the back of the panel and run the risk of touching any of the internal components. All the best.
