Now that’s a proper YouTube video. None of this click the bell and all that rubbish.

Amazing!

As you have the physical overhead and flight control panels, have you thought about "hiding" the virtual cockpit and just going with a view out the window? and then maybe pop the ND and PFD onto a separate monitor just below the autopilot controls?

That would then lend itself to a potential triple screen setup!

I'm jealous

Sure, I have thought about that continually for years. I do think it comes with some important constraints though, eg. when flying multiple aircraft. I enjoy being 'inside' a large virtual cockpit. But, never say never.

Outstanding, very well thought out, cool how the “skeleton” is the IKEA desk and so much equipment is efficiently put together in a relatively compact space. Curious as to how long it took from initial conception to finished state? Very nice!

Very nice setup! (I hope you didn't steal that safety card on the left hand side there!😁)

That really looks great Howard ! You are sitting inside the cockpit which gives great immmersion and realism.

That's a really nice set up, and a really professional video to show it off as well.  Thanks for sharing!

Certainly not Peter!  No, I photographed it on my phone during our last trip with Tui, and then tweaked things in Photoshop. It was a bit of a faff because all the uprights were all over the place. So much use of the warp tool!

Hey Mike, it has gone through many, many iterations over the years with much 'butchering.'  It started off very with a very humble setup with just a monitor and keyboard, about 14 years ago. Then as I progressed in the hobby, it began to grow. What you see in the video has been that way for some time, but as I have added different screens, I have had to accommodate the larger sizes. Likewise, as I have wanted to add different instruments and go from a Hotas Warthog joystick system to a yoke, that has meant a lot of rebuilding. My current setup took me the best part of three weeks to faff around to accommodate the big LG 48" monitor. Not only that, but I wanted to hide the main unit of the yoke behind the MIP, so that was a big thing, as it then meant it interferred with the mounting of the monitor that sits behind the MIP. it seemed every change I wanted to make had a big impact on the amount of work I needed to do elsewhere to accommodate that change. It would have been easier to build a brand new cockpit!

Well, I've never seen a hybrid cockpit like that so far as I remember - and how creative and inventive, and clearly a lot of hard work.

Brilliant, and thanks for the video..
