December 1, 20232 yr Meh. Get a cheaper/used Samsung Galaxy Tab 6. Decent screen, still viable and really cheap. I have one (since release) and still use it daily for everything: streaming, reading books, navigraph stuff. I got a mini keyboard with it as well. The iphone would be too small. I have a hard time with my steam deck sometimes later in the night in desktop mode as it is haha Edited December 1, 20232 yr by Sonosusto 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.

December 1, 20232 yr I'd like to add to the subject of tablets. Don't go too cheap and get something with some grunt. I have a cheap tablet that came free with a phone and it's fine for checklists and such things but trying to run Navigraph on it is a painful and frustrating experience. Actually, I consider it unusable on there so it's important to have somehhing with a fair amount of processing power. Navigraph is quite complex these days. As I previously said, I actually prefer to run it on a small laptop myself but decent tablets with a large enough screen really have no trouble at all with it. 5800X3D - Strix X570-E - 32GB 3600Mhz DDR4 - AMD RX 9070 XT- Samsung 980 Pro x2
December 1, 20232 yr You can always use a second monitor, they are cheap now a days. I have an ipad (9th gen 10.2 64gb) and most of the time I end up using my second monitor, but if you plan to use the ipad for other stuff besides navigrah, then get it, it is worth every penny, I spend $230 on mine. I use a 6 year old Samsung 8 inch A2 Tablet. It has a 1.9GHz quad-core CPU and 32 GB Ram. It use it for Navigraph charts and also dock the PMDG 737 FMC to it using Fergo (not at the same time, obviously!). I don't really know what specs put a tablet into the "grunt" category but this old Samsung runs those two apps without issues. I am not a real world pilot but do like to make my simming as close as possible. 1. Most pilots like the size of the iPad Mini in the real aircraft, so that is what I use. I also use a Samsung Tab 7s tablet for Navigraph. I like to use Garmin Pilot for simming as that is used real world, as is Foreflight. I use xmapsys to feed Garmin Pilot with positional & traffic data from MSFS. Navigraph is excellent, but it is not 'as close as possible' to real world. However, I use it on every flight alongside Garmin Pilot. Although Garmin Pilot and Foreflight are more expensive, I feel the expense is well worth it.
