What is in SP2?

Featured Replies

I completely understand and support ACES taking the extra time to make sure the SP2 standalone release is stable. However, "end of fall" also being a couple days before x-mas, I understand folks being a little suspicious if it was not released until then. That could be seen as little too coincidental of a time for most people to have already done their christmas shopping. If Phil doesn't understand (in this community no less) how that breeds a little unrest, I think that is being naive.

>I really do not know why some of the forum members come down>on the Aces team like this. They have just delivered a really>superb add-on, Acceleration, for one heck of a good price and>they are in the process of releasing for free, the SP2 portion>of this add-on.Agreed. All I have seen so far is ACES putting their efforts to continuing to improve FSX through additional addons and updates that will improve and provide additional enjoyment for our FS experience. At the same time they have communicated with us through Phil and other ACES team members to answer our inquiries. I for one appreciate that very much, and I think most of us do.

I have repeatedly and clearly spelled out the work in front of us.If the community cannot read that, see the facts presented, and believe, there is nothing else we at Aces can do.

I'm a big FSX hater but seriously, Phil explained what's going on with SP2 and it makes sense. Whatever MS priorities are, you'd be dumb to ship a new and "different" (as in just SP2) software product without lots of testing.

It should be mentioned also that the fs community is not the be all end all of FS. I'd wager a guess that the bulk of sales for both FS and Acceleration of from the masses who don't engage in forums or are even aware of an SP2.And to add, even if MS had postponed SP2 to gain a few bucks from the FS community, I just don't see it as a despicable act considering we are supporting future development, not to mention it's a great add-on for those who haven't had any problems, myself included.I think the consipiracy theorists should concentrate more on the moon landing conspiracies than the Aces 51 cover up.

Thanks for that, Phil. I'm one of the unlucky ones for whom Acceleration is a very mixed blessing, creating so many CTDs and other hassles that I'm having to delete. The one good point for me was the scenery improvement - better contrast, fewer blurries. Am I right in hoping that SP2 solo will retain the scenery improvements and be more stable without the added complications contained in the Acceleration package?

Seriously,Phil, turn and walk away from this and any other like-minded threads. You don't need the aggravation and are not obliged to put up with it.Randall

Ive deleted Acceleration and not planning on spending any money on anything DX10 related for a while so Aces can take as long or not at all.For those who think the MS sims are the only games made, these are troubled times. BTY-Ive been playing Crysis. Let me tell ya, You think the FSX hardware tweaking, cutting edge, technology geek squad,DX10 praying crowd here are having a rough time.Imagine us old farts with DX9 cards and XP running Crysis better and looking the same than them. Some are even deleting vista and reinstalling XP.ooHH the Horror:-bang

How does this post advance the discussion of, in this thread, what is in SP2 or why it will be released when it will be released?
