Starting at a gate automatically the engines are not running,

Starting on a runway and the engines are running.

Sometimes I do not have the time to start up from Cold and Dark, so I want to taxi as soon as possible (using the Prosim 738 ).

Now I have to Slew to a gate.

Is there no other way ? Perhaps a tool that puts you at the gate with engines running ?

Easy to do for a PMDG 737 variant. Just select the RUNWAY (or some such name) panel state using the CDU while you're at the gate, and away you go.

start on runway... taxiing is overrated until you land 🙂

Can't do that when flying on the network (Vatsim). I'm curious as well. I know cntrl E will start a single engine, but not sure about ME.

Which aircraft? I can start the PMDG 737-600 and 777F at a gate with engines spooling up, and all systems initialising.

Of course you can. Just don't connect before you are at the gate.

??????  Cannot spawn on a runway in vatsim.

That's just what I said. I don't understand why you felt the need to point out that the approach of spawning on the runway and then moving to gate is impossible if you fly on VATSIM or IVAO.

And I said it is very much possible. You spawn on the runway, then use GSX to reposition to a gate of your choice and then you connect to Vpilot.

However technically you are not supposed to park at the gate with engines running without start up clearance. 😉

The PMDG planes DEFAULT to engines running to wherever you spawn them. You can choose the startup state to be whatever you want afterwards. You can even set the plane up as you like and then start with those exact settings. I like to set the displays up for captain and fo up to my personal preferences as well as overhead apu running buses powered for a start. I just plan and input my route start her up and off we go in maybe 5 mins.

My apologies. I'm a Vatsim controller and did not want anyone to misunderstand as I did. You are 100% correct in your description. But I read bit more after seeing sloppysmusic's post and the PMDG 737 lets you start in whatever state you like.

No, they do not. I had to change the panel state when starting at a gate so that the engines would spool up.
