September 8, 2025Sep 8 So the idea is that I for example use the dynamic settings in MSFS2024 set to 72 and if those 72FPS are maintained and MSFS turns the settings to the max, AutoFPS might "jump" in and increase e.g. TLOD even further due to the available overhead? If so, I agree, that would be a nice feature on top. Greetings, Chris AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 2x32GB DDR5 6000MT/s RAM, MSI RTX 4090 Ventus 3X, Windows 11 Home, MSFS2024
September 8, 2025Sep 8 Never thought that I would say it, but this combo of Dyn Settings + AutoFPS is the smoothest experience that I had. In the air it does not make much of a difference, but in the ground with detailed scenery + Many AI aircraft it does. September 8, 2025Sep 8 The Hybrid Mode seems to work extremely well in 0.4.5.6-test9 here, too. BIG thumbs up! 'It is better to be silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.'

It’s currently experimental, so while the logic appears to activate as expected on my test bench, its practical value still needs thorough testing. You’ll need to enable it manually using the steps outlined below for it to operate. Anyway, have a play with it and tell me what you think of it. You will probably want to have developer mode FPS view displaying to see what is happening with dynamic settings LOD reductions, even if just to confirm that dynamic settings is actually active when you expect it to be. Test8: Added experimental support for hybrid MSFS-controlled dynamic settings and AutoFPS controlled auto settings reduction. Enabled by setting ExperimentalFeatures to true in MSFS_AutoFPS.config in the app root install directory prior to running the app. Utilises MSFS dynamic settings if currently enabled in MSFS settings, otherwise will revert to AutoFPS controlled LOD settings reduction. Displays DynSet and the associated default MSFS target frame rate, including a descriptive tooltip, as the Reduce status in the Sim Values panel when in a flight session and not at a reduction level greater than LODs-only. TLOD and OLOD values will also be shown with a "D" prefix and a descriptive tooltip when DynSet is active, even if auto settings reduction is not enabled in the app as MSFS dynamic settings will still be active. DynSet and the associated default MSFS target frame rate may be changed at any time, even during a flight session, and the change will be reflected in the Reduce status display. Unlike AutoFPS-controlled LODs reduction, the actual reduction amounts at any point in time is not reflected in the TLOD and OLOD display values as these are internal to MSFS and are currently only visible in Developer Mode FPS view. This is great, thank you! I will give it a test. Just to confirm, does the app still reduce settings like clouds that dynamic settings doesn’t seem to touch?

Thank you I found the same (when I was doing this method before it was integrated in the test version)! Although for me, it made a massive difference when flying over heavy cities like LA or London at altitude, because autofps would previously keep TLOD at max when my system couldn’t handle it in those situations. Excited to give the integrated version a test. Edited September 8, 2025Sep 8 by agent00729

Dynamic settings handles the reductions and AutoFPS handles the increases, hopefully providing better responsiveness, range and variety of settings changes than would otherwise be possible with just one or the other. It is just using MSFS's dynamic settings to replace AutoFPS's LOD reductions of up to 50% in low performance conditions, but otherwise it is the same ole AutoFPS. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

September 8, 2025Sep 8 After trying this feature, I believe it should be available as an option, but not set by default. I can see using both the AutoFPS stand alone and in conjunction with MSFS Dynamic Setting depending on what I want to do in the sim. Thanks! Edited September 8, 2025Sep 8 by Gulf76
September 8, 2025Sep 8 I updated the config file in the root folder to set experimental features to 'true' but I'm not seeing the same dialog as what others have posted. Running test 9. Running test 9. You also need to have dynamic settings enabled in the MSFS settings and have its target FPS set the same as your AutoFPS target FPS. September 8, 2025Sep 8 Author FYI, test10 is now released which adds some dynamic settings related UI bling, but otherwise the initial code seems to be working well. I've now done 5 flights with the new hybrid mode enabled, varying from urban areas to complex airports in different aircraft, and I have to say it is the smoothest performance I have ever had, so IMO this new feature is looking very promising. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11
