September 2, 2025Sep 2 I ended up unchecking expert settings off because it was causing more stutters for me, as it turns out. Going into KATL and it was a total stutter fest around the main city. Probably the PG loading etc. Anyway, uncheck that and I had a fairly stutter-free landing despite being around the main city. Before, hardly stutters. Been flying nearly everyday since SU3 release as well. Just a thought. Maybe the app was making too many changes? I had base TLOD of 40 and highest at 200. 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.

If I start to get stutters I just press Reset (non expert options) and that seems to fix it. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 2, 2025Sep 2 Yes, I'm getting more stutters with autofps active so I've decided not to use it.

September 3, 2025Sep 3 Author If having issues with stutters, reduce the range between TLOD Min and Max, keep TLOD Max reasonable and try setting the Sensitivity/Tolerance/LOD Step to 2 or 3. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

Reset: this has happened a few times where I reduced the base tlod to 30 and max 150 and it still was happening. Initially it was 40 and 200. Fps tolerance and sensitivity i tried from 1, 2 or 3 as well. It may not have been the app but the garbagy PG near Atlanta. or my rollingcache needs deleting again but i did that a few days ago. But it worked well after restarting the app a few times. Hitting reset i will try again this weekend. What is a good base TLOD and settings anyone wants to share with a similar setup to mine? I have a similar system and I use 50/200 for VR with an FPS cap of 40 and 100/300 for 2D with an FPS cap of 30, sometimes doubled to 60 if I decide to use LSFG but generally I don't care about 2D performance as I only use it in the cruise. As you say, PG is often the culprit and some days it is bad and some good, regardless of whether I use AutoFPS or not. IMO SU3 is as many steps backward as it went forward and random stuttering is just one of those backwards features we inherited. 9800X3D | 4090 | 64GB | 2+1TB NVME | 2TB SSD | 2TB HDD | 85/50/43” TVs | Quest 3 | DOF H3 Motion Rig | Buttkicker | T.16000M Flight Kit MSFS @ 4K Ultra DLSS Performance FG 80 FPS | VR VDXR Godlike 80Hz SSW | MSFS VR DLSS Quality, Ultra Preset - Windows 11 Acer Nitro 5 | i5-11400H | RTX 3060 6 GB | 32GB DDR4 | 15.6" FHD IPS 144Hz | 2 x 512 GB SSD | Windows 11

Drop that down and click on the .exe for the version you want. Ryan

Trying PG off saves a bit of performance but good gosh the PG around London City airport is absolutely terrible. Missing buildings, melted ice cream cones for building. I have the London City v2 scenery and that helps the major buildings but most of it looks bad. I have a 900mb/s connection and rolling cache doesn't matter what I put it as. No latency issues. Think I am keeping PG off and just get used to it. Even the generic buildings look better. When PG works, its amazing and beautiful. 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.
September 3, 2025Sep 3 The problem with PG off, is there are certain 3rd party airports and even Asobo hand-crafted airports that have severe terrain issues with PG off. For example, inibuids KJFK 4L/22R is basically unusable because there is a big speedbump that will wreck your takeoff and landing rolls with PG off. Asobo KATL and KMCO are other examples. Ryan

Yeah, even KPDXv2 looks a tad funky without it. Problem is, when it works it looks good but takes performance. Or its random. AutoFPS helps though. Guess I should keep it on. There must be a way to improve PG so I can keeps its looks with a performance loss (but autofps saving the day!) 7800+4090+64ram Just Flight RJ, 146 and F28, Piper Arrows ---A2A Aerostar and Comanche---Black Square Starship, Duke(s), TBM, Bonanza/BaronV2, KingAir---FSReborn FSR500---COWS Da42---FX P180, HJet & VJet---FlySimWare Chancellor and LearJet---FlightSimStudio EMB175 &P2006T---Fenix 320---PMDG DC6, 737(700+900), 777---C22J---Milviz Cessna 310 & Porter---SimWorksStudios Kodiak, PC12, Zenith & RV14---BigRadials Goose---IndiaFoxEcho MB3339+F35.

Having a 100-180 hz gsync-compatible monitor makes my brain hurt with gsync settings, fps capping and frame generation. Makes my brain hurt trying to figure out the best settings. Thats me, not the sim. 😅 So fps cap in the sim at 30, FG brings it up further to 60....then set my monitor to..... 60? What abouy gsync? September 3, 2025Sep 3 I doubt that your VRR range is starting only at 100FPS. I guess it is at 48FPS like most G-Sync compatible monitors, so 60FPS would be perfectly fine within the range.
